According to US Weekly, Britney Spears is the next judge on the chopping block at “The X Factor” now that the latest season has wrapped. A source told the magazine that producers didn’t think Britney was worth her $15 million paycheck, after seeing no rise in the ratings this season. Simon Cowell supposedly said he “wanted crazy Britney, but he got boring Britney.”

US Weekly did not name any sources, they just called them “insiders” but they allegedly have the inside scoop that the “Hold It Against Me Singer” will follow in the footsteps of previous judges Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger, who both came and went in one season as well.

Spear’s co-panelist L.A. Reid announced he was leaving the show earlier this month after two seasons, saying he needed to get back to running his company Epic Records.

So since Cowell is the only judge to last on the show, one burning question arises. Is it them -- or him? Does he purposefully choose people who can’t live up to his standards? Or is the show just not cutting it and the judges are becoming the scapegoats? Was Britney not crazy enough to get the ratings the show needs or was she just being professional and doing her job? What do you think? Should Britney be fired from “The X Factor”?

Not that I watch the show or anything, but there needs to be some continuity. American Idol was at its best when it was just Simon, Paula, and Randy. When they started changing judges, it wasn't as good. But then again, the Sanjaya season was the last time I actually watched that show.
