Britney Spears is "in treatment for her mental health." Now that she's accepting help, will she be able to bounce back?

Candy January 28, 2008 19:38:11

This morning on The View, Barbara Walters announced that Sam Lufti, Britney Spears' manager had called her. Apparently, he told her that Britney had just entered treatment and was seeking help for what Walters termed “mental issues which are treatable". She also reported that Spears was having trouble sleeping and was suffering from “mood swings,” but that she was back in touch with her mother, Lynne Spears. This sounds like the best Britney news we've had in a while. Do you think, with help, Britney will be able to bounce back?
She is finally accepting help. This story is going to have a happy ending. Britney will be okay.
She'll bust out of that "Treatment" after a day. You can't stop the Britney train.
Lets just say I'm cautiously optimistic.
You!

I have a mental illness, it's really hard going through therapy sometimes. I go to outpatient therapy three times a week. I hope Britney can get her life straightened out.

But seriously, I have little sympathy for the poor little rich girl.

I have to say i like the crazy britney better but i have always loved crack whores. lol. jk. well if she is serious about getting help then more power to her. if she cant do it for her self at least do it for her kids they are what should matter if nothing else does. if she really wants help then she will do all thats in her power to get the help she needs. i cant say that i neccesarily believe she will get help cuz there are to many stories where she goes for help but it all goes back to her losing her mind again or showing that she never really was better in the first place. this is just one of those things where seeing is believing.

Hell, I'd be nuts too if every time I walked out of my house I had 100 GD flashlights in my face, idiots screaming questions at and surrounding me so I couldn't even get to my GD car! Look, this woman has enough problems without the real "crazies" up in her face all the time -- the way the media acts, I swear I think they actually want something really bad to happen to this woman just for the ratings! She needs to move away from all that craziness, take time to herself to think and get well -- I'm no Britney fan, but this is not all her doing -- Media, leave her alone already -- you are driving her crazy -- she's young, she's gone through a divorce, her children have been removed and she can't handle all this up in your face attention 24/7

Lets just say I'm cautiously optimistic.

I hope that Britney can get treated for her illness and will continue to stay in treatment. It is sad to see someone have a mental breakdown. Working 15 years as a mental health counselor, I saw it all of the time. I saw the havoc it wreaks on families and individuals. I saw the ugly side of it. It would be nice if everyone would back off and give the girl some peace and quiet instead of hounding her constantly. I know that won't happen, but that stress in itself is enough to drive some people over the edge.

It's sad that she has to live her life the way she does. I mean, she obviously has a problem so thats good she's finally doing something about it. Everyone makes mistakes, and then we learn from them.

I feel so bad for her.
We ALL know that these latest outbursts are just publicity stunts.
I don't think she planned on all this. But I don't think she has a problem, she's just out of control.
She's a celebrity who's just craving more attention, just like all the rest of the washed up stars.
They'll do anything for an interesting tv show, photo or article in the newspaper.
