Out of all the TV shows I watch and have watched over the years, Breaking Bad is easily my favorite. Ok "favorite" is an understatement. I'm obsessed! That's why when I hear about Aaron Paul (who plays Jesse) telling everyone to "Sit down and shut up" at a Sigur Ros concert last week, it warms my heart a little.

Part of what makes the show enticing is the fact that the characters are so relatable and the plot is somewhat realistic. I mean, it's a bit far-fetched but it could happen. In fact, I just found out that there's an actual meth cook named Walter White on Alabama's "Most Wanted" list. I wonder if he's watched the show?

I'm a late comer to the show. Quite frankly, the premise of the show kept me from watching it. My oldest daughter is a fan and kept telling me she knew I'd love it. So when I noticed Netflix had the entire series I gave it a try, and was hooked after one show. Walt and Jessie are amazing characters. Hands down one of the best TV shows...ever.

The premise turns people off because it sounds like it's glorifying the distribution and use of meth. In fact, it's not even about meth. Meth is just a plot point. The meth represents the lengths a man will go to provide or his family when he's desperate. It has evolved to be a challenge to the viewers. Is Walt a bad guy or a good guy anymore? That's the challenge to the viewers. Is it even about providing for his family anymore? Brilliant.

Agreed... brilliant. We'll see where the rest of this season takes Walt.

Love it, and I'm not a tv watching couch potato. It's won four Emmy awards and best lead actor in a drama 3 consecutive years in a row. Very well scripted and believable. No desperate housewives of Orange county for me, that's my mother-in-law lol

What does the picture have to do with this question, the show, or anything for that matter. Except to present you as a sexist troll.

Breaking Bad is as repulsive as the picture of the wide strides! Yes, sexist. No bridges round here!

It's a great show - if you started watching it from the beginning. If you would like to check it out, but haven't watched all the other episodes, you won't understand a lot of it. Maybe this is TV's version of a soap opera for the 9 to 5 working crowd? Still, I really enjoy the program.

Not only is it not the kind of TV I usually watch, but I don't see what's so special about it, either.

The camera work alone is worth watching. Of you appreciate good cinamatography, this show is top notch. Not to mention every actor in the show plays their role brilliantly. The evolution of this characters has been more compelling than any other show I've watched. Credit that to the brilliant writing. What's so special about it? You're not being spoon fed. Who's the bad guy and who's the good guy? Well, it's not that clear. That's for the viewer to decide. Has Walt just become a power hungry monster or is it sill about providing for his family anymore. Well, that's an argument that has great points on both sides. How many shows challenge the viewer like that? Very very few. In fact, most of them insult your intelligence with very obvious foreshadowing and "winks" to the camera just in case you're too stupid to see what's right in front of your damn face.

Well, now. I think I judged too soon. I do love it when a TV show challenges me, makes me think. So, I think you just talked me into watching the show, now. I'm adding the first season to my Netflix queue now.

I didn't know what Breaking Bad was about until last season. Most apparently recall Bryan Cranston from Malcolm In The Middle but I first saw Cranston on the X-Files 6th season 'Drive' episode. Vince Gilligan wrote Drive and Gillian created, writes and directs Breaking Bad.

I can't really disagree...I think you may be a bit over zealous though. But then again a Meth head is just as likely to shoot you... Oh one "drug" has my support though I don't smoke it(well I haven't in a long time), weed. It helps with a lot of medical conditions and is safer than alcohol.

Its a man diagnosed with cancer who is going to die and that is the way he chooses to make money fast so his family doesn't suffer when he's gone. Besides, listen to you glorifying murder because YOU think its a good choice. Hypocrite.

Wow. Who said anything about $27 an hour and I also don't know what business your in but anyone willing to work for $7 an hour is probably close to bottom of the barrel or an illegal. Most people that have real responsibilities in life would laugh at $7 an hour. Try bumping that up to $12-14 an hour with a drug test and see what happens.

You get what you pay for.

A local steel mill needed 60 men to work in the hot mill and a rolling mill 68 men were interviewed and drug tested 14 passed the drug test and out of that 14 that passed 5 had criminal records that they lied about on the application . The starting wage was 14.75 plus benifits after 90 day probationary period . It took 13 months to get 60 men hired who were clean and sober without criminal records and of that 60 men 21 were mexicans that the plant sponsered and helped to get green cards. I have worked as a teamster union driver over the years when I had slack time with my business and the last time I worked at 90% wage I made 27.50 an hour and that was in 1999 I pay 12.00 an hour in cash at the end of every day for labor and 14.00 for semi skilled carpenters. I cant pay for drug testing 75.00 but wish the states would consider testing all liscensed drivers .
