Brad Daugherty thinks his Cavaliers team from the late 80s could beat today's Cleveland team featuring MVP LeBron James. Daugherty admits that LeBron James would be a big problem, but he believes that the defensive skills of players like Larry Nance and Hot Rod Williams could stifle James' offense a bit. For offense, Daugherty thinks that the pick-and-roll that he ran with Mark Price would give the current Cavs team some problems. Brad also thought that Ron Harper would pose a threat too.
Who do you think would win?

Hot Rod Williams
Larry Nance
2008-2009 Cleveland Cavaliers starting lineup

SF - LeBron James
PF - Anderson Varejao
C - Zydrunas Ilgauskas

Emma 2009/05/15 01:24:23No, the 2008 Cavaliers team with LeBron James would beat the Cavaliers from 2...+2We love you Brad, but you're wrong on this one. LeBron James represents the best player today, and is the best player Cleveland has ever had. Big Z, Delante West, Verajo, Mo Williams and the remaining guys make up a remarkable team. They use moves and make shots that the team of the 80s never thought of. . . .

So, in that same way of thinking, LBJ would carry his team over Daughtery's. That 80's team lacked a superstar player that both Lebron's Cavs and MJ's Bulls had.reply

- Tommy Trend 2009/05/14 23:48:44No, the 2008 Cavaliers team with LeBron James would beat the Cavaliers from 2...+1great question!!! I love the old team. I think Craig Ehlo was there too. how does LeBron do it? he won MVP his talent is undeniable the other guys are total stiffs!!!! Michael Jordan had Scottie Pippen and Horace Grant then Dennis Rodman, and of course Phil Jackson. The Cavs might win the whole thing though. I would love to see LeBron vs. Kobe!!!!reply

+1Yeah, Craig Ehlo and Phil Hubbard were the other Cavs that saw a good chunk of playing time on that team.reply - Razia 2009/05/14 23:05:17No, the 2008 Cavaliers team with LeBron James would beat the Cavaliers from 2...+1Players have evolved in skills. The game may have been a little slower twenty years ago and players like "King James" only appear once every 10 - 20 years. Besides, that's a fantasy, today, they'd be too old to win...reply
