Thursday would have been Whitney Houston's 49th birthday, and her adoring daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown paid tribute by getting a tattoo on her wrist of her mom's initials surrounded by doves. Close family friend Nick Gordon also got the same ink in Whitney's memory.

Earlier on Wednesday, Brown tweeted: "On the way with MYbooboo @nickgordon :)heading2 #Inksomnia for our TATTSSS !this is for you mommy (: we love you, happybirthday Ourlady XXo." Brown later posted an Instagram picture of the tattoos.

Meanwhile, 14-year-old Paris Jackson is hoping to follow in Bobbi Kristina's footsteps, tweeting on Tuesday: "I kinda want to get August XXIX tatted on my back" (which is her father, Michael Jackson's birthday). She added, "lol y'all are trippin trying to tell me not to get the tat, when u guys don't even know what it means … it's my dads bday get over it lmao." What do you think? Are tribute tattoos a nice way to remember loved ones?

I would prefer not to be remembered in the form of a tattoo, nor a shirt, neither a social media page. My mind can remember those who were close to me enough that I do not need a permanent image on my body.

Typical immature person, does not like a answer and that is the best response you can come up with, not very original, and all in caps. Sorry your education has not equipped you with a more intellectual way to debate.

It's a tacky way to remember loved ones. I hate tattoos, especially on women. There is nothing classy about a tattoo. It's popularity shows how trashy Americans have become, and the more tattoos you have, the bigger piece of trash you are.

There are plenty of ways to remember a loved one without marking up your body permanently. Call me what you want, but I like the body to be natural. This means no piercings, tattoos, or circumcisions.

It's not tacky to you, maybe, but it shows absolutely no class.

How could I get over myself? I live a contented life, and things are going my way. I'm very pleased with myself. Why would I want to ruin that????

U may like your body natural but there's really no reason to call people with tattoos trashy and tacky because I guarantee those same people don't say rude things about you.

As long as they're meaningful to you and you know that you'd want them on your body the rest of your life.

The best way to give tribute to a love one is too keep their memories a lives, by celebrating their life. Make a memorial in the house or a special place where all the lovely things they have given you can be. A quiet place to meditate and pray for them. No,tattoos!

I do ALL of the aforementioned *and* I'm STILL getting a tattoo for my sister. Why in the world would you think that body art is our ONLY form of tribute?

My loved one is honored in my heart and, soon, on my skin. You people sound as though it's the ONLY way we remember them, whcih is patently untrue.

Why feel the need for a mark-up to remember their loved ones? If they're in their heart, they won't forget them. I have many tats but wouldn't even do this but if they want to, it's their prerogative as B. Brown would agree.

See for yourself. God Almighty he sucks !

That's just plain mean. If you don't look like a centerfold (and I'm sure you don't) then you have no right to criticize her looks. In fact, you'd have no right to belittle her looks even IF you looked like a model.
