It's been forever since I heard this one. Thought you all might enjoy it as well. IMO, better than the Paper Lace version.

Never heard that song, must have been stuck on Motown during the 70's.

That's ok, not really the style of music I particularly like, but pleasant in it's own way.

It's kind of monotonous but it was important at the time it came out. The group was good.

The thing about it is, I think the Dallas Mavericks once had a center named Bo Donaldson(black). From SMU I believe. That's who I thought about when I heard this song.

Thats what songs do. They bring back memories of people, times, sadness, happiness, good and bad. I do like the stories they tell. The truth is you can interpret most of them for personal reasons or world events. One of my favorites is Elvis singing "How Great Thou Art". It's beautiful but it brings back memories of my family and the kind of music they sang and played.

Great song but I must ask ...they didn't have two way radio back then? If so Billy died a needless death

apparently they didn't have it otherwise Billy wouldn't have rode off trying to be a hero. She told him not to lol

Yes it was. I wonder how many wars are faught for the right reasons. Even WWI and WWII there was some back room dealings that brought the world to the place of where the wars happened.
