A few days ago, we learned that Eddie Murphy had officially backed out of hosting the Oscars so we asked you guys who the replacement host should be. Well, sadly, the Academy didn't take our advice because Neil Patrick Harris isn't hosting the awards like the majority of you wanted. Instead, Billy Crystal is hosting the Oscars.

The "When Harry Met Sally" actor casually tweeted this message Thursday afternoon: "Am doing the Oscars so the young woman in the pharmacy will stop asking my name when I pick up my prescriptions. Looking forward to the show." The funny thing is, that probably is the reason Billy Crystal is doing the show.
To people of his generation, the guy is a classic actor who used to belong on the A list. But to the new generation, he's kind of just a creepy looking guy that was in that one romantic comedy your mom still talks about.
We get it. The Academy is probably just really confused. They went with two young actors hosting last year -- Anne Hathaway and James Franco -- and it didn't go over so well. So now they're going with an oldie-but-a-goodie, Billy Crystal.
Who knows how ratings will fare this time around, but we've got to ask: do you think Billy Crystal is a good pick for Oscars host -- or is he old news?

Perosnally, I probably won't watch the exclusive club that if you're in you get an oscar, and if you are out you don't.....
"Soap" was the funniest show on television. If you haven't seen it, you've missed one of the shows that changed television forever. The networks realized some people do have a more sophisticated sense of humor and not everybody likes "The Three Stooges."
