Actually Clapton,Hendrix, and Jimmy Page are all great to me. I like Pete Townshend windmill guitar move but I dont know much about him.Kurt Cobain is growing on me but
hes not listed.Dave Mustaine I dont know much of either but I dig his work with Metallica.
Tony Iommi and Ozzy Ozbourne I like but sometimes Im too much of a Jesus freak to listen
I have no idea who my favorite guitarist of rock or jazz or classical is theres too many greats.
I know Id have died of depression without my The Doors albums growing up though so Robby Krieger is high up though very underrated. The Doors drummer John Densmore is
the 2nd critic choice in the band after poet-lyricist Jim Morrison.Ive said Densmores my favorite rock drummer before and after him Bonham of Led Zepplin in rock. I used to play drums. My alltime favorite guitarist is me because Im one of the worlds worst.
The only thing I can do on a guitar that is original is make it sound like a punk-rockabilly
train perhaps in the pychobilly style and Im 34.I just recently figured out how to string it
because of youtube so I can finally progress and I tune it by ear and by pitch pipe.I have
played Johnny Cashs song Hurt by ear a few times when I had those chords memorized.
I picked up many songs at various times by tabs and thru reading music a bit but I cant completely read music.
That sounds cool; I love Johnny Cash's cover of Hurt. It sounds like you have some real talent. I tried to learn guitar over a summer but failed. For me, I just try to appreciate those with such amazing skills.
Most people have a instrument that they can play but if we all wanted the same job we'd kill each other.Oddly enough more people probably want to make a living
in music than any other job.Maybe most people tend to be wired that way so theyll want to sing praises to God in heaven or play praises on a instrument. Please dont barf on me if I type too corny.
Supposedly most people in music dont want to songwrite and most dont want
to play a accordian but the accordian is the worlds most unpopular instrument.
Townshend was a great guitarist and song writer. I think he was very revolutionary guitarist in the 60s; his Windmill was also very interesting. He managed to strike every note precisely during the Windmill and it still looked awesome. I think he doesn't get as much credit as he deserves.
I really just want to hear who people think is the best Rock Guitarist. The most tallented and skilled guitarist is who we are supposed to vote for, not the "Most Sells" or "Most Popular."
I wonder what he would have done if he hadn't died of drug abuse so early in his career. He was only making music for 4 years (1967-1970) before he died.

Also, NEVER leave Eddie VanHalen out of a best rock guitarist poll.
I love Kirk.
I picked Mustaine due to speed, intricate playing, structure, and for using the whole fret board.
