It's a close one, though... those Death albums are really good, the rest of the Megadeth is really good, the Slayer album is really good, the Alice in Chains album is really good, most if not all of those albums are really good...

Metallica kicked ass, but The Black Album wasn't their best. It was great, but not their best (Pantera's Vulgar Display Of Power comes in at a close second).

Dirt - Alice in Chains (1992)

By the way, GREAT list. I chose Dirt because, as an album, it doesn't just feature a bunch of great songs. ALL of those songs were made for the album and not to sell as singles. Dirt is meant to be listened to from beginning to end. I hate to say that some of these groups I never heard of.

This album simply defines metal! Dave Mustaine is a god of Thrash and is one of the best metal guitarists ever. The black album by Metallica is really just mainstream garbage, and the only 2 songs I like on it are "don't tread on me" and "The Unforgiven" everything else is just highly overrated.

Not really seeing the fact Dave Mustaine wrote Kill' em All, and half of Ride the Lightning. Those being Metallica's two best albums. Megadeth is just better in every way possible.
