Talk about big music news: Paul McCartney's son James says he would consider forming The Beatles -- The Next Generation with Sean Lennon, Dhani Harrison and Zak Starkey (Ringo Starr's son).

"I don't think it's something that Zak wants to do," he told the BBC. "Maybe Jason [another of Starr's sons and also drummer] would want to do it. I'd be up for it. Sean seemed to be into it, Dhani seemed to be into it. I'd be happy to do it."

Asked, "Do you think it could happen?" James responded: "Yeah, hopefully, naturally. I don't know, you'd have to wait and see. The will of God, nature's support, I guess. So yeah, maybe."

Naturally, James' quotes nearly broke the Internet, forcing him to clarify his comments on his Facebook page:

"Hi Everyone...well, looks like quite some attention being given to my BBC interview! Honestly, I was just thinking out loud about playing with Beatles family friends, nothing more. My band's going to be on tour in the UK and US for most of this year, and the shows are going great! I'm so grateful…Lots of love to you all…!"

It's scary how much he sounds like his Dad in this song! I would definitely love to see The Beatles' sons in a band though. It doesn't hurt to try. :)

Who cares what fame their dads achieved? Are they talented, can they perform?

That said, most of them are not talented, but have no other skills.

Have to go with Natalie. She's a favorite of mine and a special lady that I've had the pleasure of meeting. She's also my friends neighbor. Love the song Unforgettable and it's been a memorable song in my life.

Poor thing. He's going totally bald, he's fat and not cute. Of the 4 I have to say Ringo's son is the best looking. Never heard of a fat Beatle. So, no. Just do your own thing, the Beatles were not even from earth. It's not possible. It's like trying to reproduce Michael Jackson in all his glory. Just forget it. Anything but the original is a posuer'

So many of the above are incredibly talented, so I essentially rolled the dice and picked Natalie. But I'd've settled for Ziggy, Julian, or Roseanne.

That being said, a Son(s) of Beatles would be awsome!

I worked at record store for 5 years & two after MTV came out.then I returned in the 90's and by far Natalie Cole was the most popular over the Lennon Brothers.
