Wow, this is incredibly sad. Beastie Boy Adam Yauch, aka MCA, has died at 47 after a battle with cancer. R.I.P. The story was first reported by Global Grind and confirmed by Rolling Stone.
In 2009 Yauch announced in a YouTube video that he was diagnosed with cancer in his parotid glands. He has since undergone surgery and radiation therapy, which delayed tours and the release of the Boys' last album, Hot Sauce Committee Part Two. It is unclear if his death is related to his battle with cancer.
The Beastie Boys' record label, Capitol Records, just took to twitter to confirm the death, writing, "Heavy hearted. Rest in peace Adam."
