Barbara Walters Disses Queen Elizabeth: Does She Have a 'Sour Face'?

Did you catch the Olympic Opening Ceremonies last Friday? We found the whole thing kind of boring, but one highlight was the bit with Queen Elizabeth and James Bond (there's a good sport, we thought!). Well, Barbara Walters agrees with us ... but only to a point. The legendary celeb interviewer thinks the Queen's skit with Daniel Craig was funny ... but she has a problem with Her Majesty's "sour face."

"Let me tell you my thing with the Queen," Walters said on "The View." "I did agree that the whole thing with Daniel Craig was funny… [but] this is a woman who does not know how to smile. ...It’s such a sour face."

She also has an issue with the Queen's sense of style. "She is 86, but she dresses like something out of the 19th century, Walters said. “The pink dress with the pink plume, but then the black gloves and the black bag -- what does the Queen keep in that bag anyway? She never changes." Walters has a point about the Queen, but she was a good sport in that Bond skit. And she always looks pretty queenly to us. How about you?

    Barbara seems to be a bit on the jealous side ..
    of a TRUE Lady .. a Queen ..
    that has definitely embraced her years ..
    and proudly (Still!) carries herself for the world to see ..
    Quite a story of survival too written in her life ..
    from her birth .. through WWII .. to now .. and such a large family!

    Yes. BW has been flu of it since long before The View, I lost all respect for her when she did that anti-exotic pet segment on 2020. The View is trash.

    I didn't think the queen was a "sour face", but I was thinking "couldn't she smile/look happy at least a little?" I would be if the olympics were in my country.

    Everyone has been caught by a camera at the wrong time, especially people who are photographed a lot. She's human. Maybe she had gas or her pantyhose were too tight.

    No you can't smile with a throbbing headache, and I meant no disrespect to her. But, Iike I said, when someone is photographed a lot, there are going to be times they're not caught with what people consider the proper expression. It could happen to anyone.

    She's elderly. She's a queen and over her reign has had to deal with quite a lot. Baba Wawa needs to shut up. Seriously. Without some nips and tucks here and there, Baba would look much more sour.

    First, Barbara Walters is in the public eye. She has a responsibility to interview people, not comment on his or her appearance. Mrs. Walters reflects our culture, rude mean-spirited, and critical of others.

    Second, this is not a good question. Why ask a question about someone's appearance - very shallow. You needed a third category - Who Cares? Ridiculous!

    She's dealing with quite a bit. She has a successor (Prince Charles) whom many subjects would love to see passed over in favor of Prince William. She might be in deep concentration on trying to outlive her son!

    I don't understand why she didn't smile, she is the hostess, she's not making me feel super comfortable. Also I liked Queen Sophia of Spain who was smiling large big waves to everyone, makes me want to go to Spain!

    No one can begin to imagine the responsibilities that the queen has,and as far as Bartbara Walters criticizing the Queen's face,she should try taking a look in the mirror.All that money spent on plastic surgery,what a waste.At least the Queen is growing old with grace,not resisting her advancing age every step of the way.
