Megan and Eric Kellermeyer have followed in Robin Williams' footsteps and named their child after a video game character. But they didn't just do it for the kicks, or even because they particularly like the game. They did it because they liked the name, and Bethesda was offering a sweet deal.

Bethesda announced that it would give a lifetime of free games to anyone who named their child Dovahkiin, the name of the protagonist in their latest game, "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim." Megan said, "We've toyed with Dovahkiin and the ramifications of naming a child that name, and that name being based on a video game character (however awesome), and what impact that would have on him. But the more I thought of it, the more I settled on Dovahkiin, contest or no."

Dovahkiin Tom Kellermeyer was born on 11/11/11, the same day the game came out.

Even if by the time the kid is in school nobody remembers Skyrim, it's still a very interesting name to have, don't ya think? What's your name? Bob. And you? Tim. And you? I am Dovahkiin. That'd be awesome. And he has that middle name to fall back on if he really doesn't like his name.

It's a unique name!! If the parents truly liked it, then why not? If Dovahkiin doesn't like his name himself later down the road, he always has the option of going by Tom too.

Normal and common place names are boring.

People get named stupid names all the times because of historical figures, relatives, lack of parental imagination, or the likes.

Now me? I'm going to name my kid something awesome out of some badass anime or video game. xD

Nowadays kids hate their parents for any reason, I'm going to be nice enough to give him/her a VALID reason.

If I have a son, I'll name him Tanner. Naming after John Tanner from Driver. If I have a daughter, I'll name her Kinzie. Naming after Kinzie Kensington from Saints Row: The Third. If I name one of my future children after my video game characters, I can do that too. It's both cool and crazy.

It's your child and i suppose you can call it what ever you want!! if it doesn't like it's name when it's older then it can change it but it'll be used to the name whatever it is by the time it's old enough to change it!!

Was gonna name my Kid either Kain or Jade...wo nothing wrong with that..just a name they can change it later if they wanted..besides Dova sounds like it has a nice ring to it.
