An award-winning author has taken aim at Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, referring to her as "basically breeding stock."
In an article for the London Review of Books entitled "Royal Bodies," Hilary Mantel - whose historical novels "Wolf Hall" and "Bring Up the Bodies" both won the esteemed Man Booker Prize - the pregnant princess is called "a jointed doll on which certain rags are hung" with "plastic smile and the spindles of her limbs hand-turned and gloss-varnished."

The article has caused a lot of negative reactions, with British Prime Minister David Cameron calling it "completely misguided" and The Telegraph saying it is in "poor taste."
However, others say that the comments have been taken out of context, as Mantel is actually making a point about female royalty and the way that they are seen by the media and the public.
Do you think that Hilary Mantel has a point?

Thank goodness they are finally picking good looking women and good looking men instead of their cousins. If you question this look back at the thirties when so many young men of European royalty were dying of a terrible blood disease. The Now QueenE was better looking because King George 6 married a non related woman. It continues to improve.

(sheesh .. a FICTION Author .. writing more fiction .. )
You maybe right in your assumations about the royals...however until i meet them myself i won't judge them. Heavy is the head that sits the crown. Mrs. Mantel maybe right to...but until i have experienced their rule...i won't say anything bad about the role they place in the Brits. lives. I have no quarrel with the royals.
I got to admit...i have been silenced by you for now...i will be back though.
