I love them soooo much!! I wish I could get backstage passes but they always get sold out. They aren't even touring until next year cause val is prego.
Lol you're just one of those people. Music is subjective but talent isn't, and even if you may think you don't like metalcore as whole, there may be some out there you like. And if you don't take that into consideration, your lost.
OK then. So according to you guys Im lost and stupid. But on the other hand i can see how my last post was not received that well by some users, so i apologise even if it comes with a measurable degree of reluctance. So heres the deal I listen to artists such as John Petrucci, Steve Vai, Yngwie Malmsteen, joe Satriani, Michael Angelo Batio, Shaun Baxter, Zakk Wylde and many others, who excel in their respect fields. So What does metalcore have to offer a listener like myself?
What, no! I never said your stupid. It's not like people who, like you and I, who listen to, a lot of music, go through... stages.... or levels, of musical experience.
Of course those people are great (But Michael is so unlistenable dude... it's like watch me play 2 neck guitars and rape your ears for 3 minutes. The guy is talented but god damn. If your into that, cool but not for me lol.)
Here's the way I see metalcore, or at least, the metalcore I like listening to:
Metal, needs more hardcore. And Hardcore, needs more metal.
And bam: I get metalcore. I guess that's just what I listen to, I come from punk and grindecore roots so I'm fine with this. I've been a drummer for 5 and a half years so, guitar was never really my thing. For a person like you who's really into the guitar (and really technical guitar for that matter), it's not easy finding something to like in the metalcore genre so that makes sense. I just see myself as a really open listener.
I think Between the Buried and Me is a great band to start with because, well they're not metalcore anymore, they've grown more into a death/progessive genre, but Paul Wagoner is a genius at guitar.
RIP The Rev
Please don't eat me ):
I think they're talented and their music is pretty damn clever...but I honestly just can't abide M. Shadows' voice. It makes me most unhappy -_-
ok :/
