Atari, an iconic video game company, has got plenty of history. Steve Jobs used to work there before he founded Apple. "Pong," one of the first video games ever, was founded there. Heck, even the creators of "Call of Duty" used to be game developers at the company. And now, the company is officially 40 years old!

Weekend Ar(t)s recalls June 27, 1972—Atari's birthday (now 40 and active!)

Yes, I'm old school+4I love NES! I just found an old system at the flea market and have rediscovered the joys of Super Mario Bros

My favorite was the Insidious Brain Machines (IBMs). :-)
I tried to find a video of that on YouTube or even any mention of it on the Internet but came up empty.
.
Many of the games were pretty hokey - but we still played them.
I also remember when Atari pissed everyone off when they came out with the 5200, which was not backward compatible, so would not play any of our 2600 games. It nearly killed Atari since people had to replace their games, as many took the moment to convert to Sony or ColecoVision.
I also had Magnavox Odyssey.
It got really sore.
The good thing is that I realized with that game what a waste of time video game obsession can be and havent spent much time on them since.
no one could beat me on this one, lol
(Yes, I meant to do that.)
I mean to do that....
“Atari” is a particular arrangement of pieces in the Japanese game “Go.” It’s conceptually similar to being “in check” in Chess. As an arrangement of pieces, it could be considered a “figure.”
A “Go figure.”
