Can someone tell me why all the nail salons in my town and all the other ones I see in the surrounding areas are ran by Asian women??

haha, its the same in germany... ALL the shops! been to one once and the bloody cow filed my skin instead of my nail. it started to bleed :-/ so cant be just the attention to detail. Even though theyre doin great paintings on the nails and stuff.. always remembers me of calligraphy.

One of them...and not one of her better ones even....I don't have her pics on this computer, they are on my laptop...beautiful intelligent girl...I miss her...I know that Tay and Tiff still talk to her though, I am just not on the puter enough anymore to have relationships with anyone..lol

Immigrant communities are particularly good about helping each other out. They all came with nothing, so they feel perfectly fine buying a business for a cousin who's worked for them for 5 years. They know he'll buy one for his cousin who's worked for him for 5 years when he can, and move the cycle on. Because of experience, they often stick to the same sort of business (at least in the 1st generation).

You see the same thing with Indians and gas stations and hotels, a number of ethnicities with taxis, etc, Asians with dry cleaners, etc.... The community helps them out, and they help them with whatever they got into from the beginning.
