I can't believe how much boxing has changed. There was a time when boxers used all their aggression up in the ring, and were pretty well-behaved outside it. Since Muhammad Ali came along, and told everyone that it's cool to behave like an arrogant prick all the time, boxers seem to have no self-control any more.

*teehee* That reminds me of my favourite uncle, who passed away in 2007. I loved him dearly, but he had strong beliefs about homosexuality (he didn't know I was gay, but he knew another niece of his was and would say, in private, that he loved her, but worried for her because she had an illness).
Anyway, he used to say "they should take all the gay men and put them on one island and take all the gay women and put them on another island and then they'll realise why they need each other!" ;-)

Maybe it's the same energy that drew them to a sport where they were hitting another human. I don't know why anyone would want to hit another person for sport. or not.
