Ariel Winter is one step closer to divorcing her mother, as Child Protective Services has now formally recommended that the 14-year-old “Modern Family” actress should remain under the guardianship of her sister, actress Shanelle Gray. According to Radar Online, they have also recommended that her mother, Chrisoula Workman, should not be allowed to have any unsupervised contact with her.
A source has allegedly said that "social workers from the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services conducted extensive interviews with Ariel, her mother and her sister," and that they have now “written a formal report for the judge handling the guardianship petition.” The conclusion of this is that “DCFS officials agree that her sister should remain as Ariel's guardian.”
Ariel was placed under the care of her sister on October 3 following claims that she was being physically and emotionally abused by her mother. Instances listed in the custody documents include “ongoing physical abuse (slapping, hitting, pushing) and emotional abuse (vile name-calling, personal insults about minor and minor's weight, attempts to 'sexualize' minor, deprivation of food, etc).”
Ariel's father, Glenn Workman, who is estranged from the actress's mother, reportedly objects to the sister's guardianship and has also stepped forward to ask for custody of the girl.
