For the first time since 2000, the Ultimate Fighting Championship returns to Japan with an action-packed mixed martial arts card -- UFC 144: Edgar vs. Henderson. The pay-per-view, which is set to air Saturday, February 25 at 10pm/ET, is headlined by lightweight champion Frankie "The Answer" Edgar defending his gold against Benson "Smooth" Henderson in the five round main event.
In the co-main event, popular fighter and former light heavyweight champion Quinton "Rampage" Jackson takes on former "Ultimate Fighter" reality show winner Ryan "Darth" Bader, in what could be the last fight of Jackson's decorated MMA career. The main card on PPV will be a little different than typical UFC shows this time around, as it'll be made up of seven fights, as opposed to four or five.
Former welterweight title challenger Jake Shields faces Yoshihiro Akiyama in what could be the final UFC fight for the loser (both are coming off of consecutive losses). Lastly, to round out the marquee matchups is a lightweight bout between two potential contenders in Joe "J-Lau" Lauzon vs. Anthony "Showtime" Pettis -- in what is sure to be a fight of the night candidate. Will you be watching UFC 144 in Japan?
