Since opening last Wednesday, "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse" has earned $175.3 million domestically. But it's running behind "New Moon," which after six days coughed up $178.9 million in ticket sales.

"Eclipse" set three records: biggest midnight gross ever, biggest Wednesday ever and widest release ever. But we can't help but wonder: Why did "New Moon" do better than "Eclipse" at the box office?

Tell you what, I enjoy Twilight.Eclipse was my fav book out of the saga.The movie was not good.at all.The only thing i liked about it was Bella's sunglasses and the vamp flashbacks...i was really disappointed.
Even though New moon was better as a movie,I don't like the plot of it-so let it be Eclipse.

I saw both movies and was not totally impressed with either of them. However, I do think that since Eclipse is way less depressing than New Moon and has more opportunities for fan service for those twilight ladies out there, I'd have to go with Eclipse.

100% better than New Moon! I've seen it twice already in theaters, and I just LOVE the movie. David Slade did an amazing job directing this movie, he really brought it to a new level! GREAT movie!

i litterally just finished watching eclpse nd i was blown away. tht was sooo much better than new moon. to be honest i was a little bored with new moon.(not a jacob fan). but eclipse had everything! it had action, romance, friendship, nd surprisingly funny at some parts. i absolutley loved loved loved it.

New Moon was about the Relationship, and when he dumped her and the pain she went through, I could feel her hurt, However the only disappointment was she didnt cry.

within both these movies You need to watch them not once but a couple of times.

I hate everything Twilight. I really do.
I've seen all the movies just so I can rag on them.
But to me, Eclipse was not that bad. Actually, I would stretch to say it was pretty good.
The dialogue between Edward and Bella for me still made me want to vomit, but I actually enjoyed the movie for what is was.

We come from very similar places. I really hated Twilight and DESPISED New Moon.
But you should see Eclipse.

I really loved both of them...but I do think this last one had some amazing fight scenes...I loved when the newborns came walking out of the water also..such a cool scene. Loved Jasper!!! hmm...and the shirtless, Jacob, scenes were nice :)
