Gaming could get a lot more real, thanks to the Oculus Rift Virtualy Reality Headset. The new gadget is expected to make games more realistic than they've ever been before. Are you interested?

Yes, however it wouldn't be easy, if made at all. And by that, I mean full out virtual reality. You walk, you talk, you touch your environment, you hold the gun, etc. For that to happen, you'd need a large piece of land and build at least the basics. You don't necessarily need to texture, you could make them wear a virtual reality helmet that sincs with your location and displays the appropriate image, but it'd still be very difficult.

that would be so awesome! imagine playing first person games like that, totally new experience. maybe parents will be quiet about never getting exercise if we were active doing it too

Sounds good to me. Motion control tech is getting better. I'm assuming you would need something like that to orient yourself in the gamespace. I would love to use this, a controller, and surround headphones for an immersive 360 degree world.

Sounds REALLY interesting but EFFECTIVE virtual reality gaming is a long ways down the road I mean we can barely engineer effective motion controls, they never work as well as pushing a good old fashioned button
