By now, most know the main details about the Penn State scandal that rocked the college football world and beyond. Jobs were lost. Jerry Sandusky will most likely be going to jail for life. And former Penn State head coach Joe Paterno is dead, but the now-infamous legacy he has left is alive, not necessarily well--and quite disturbing.

According to TMZ, legendary actor Al Pacino wants to play the role of Paterno in a new biopic, based on the book "Paterno." An actor as great as Pacino may excel in that role, but it might be too soon for many to actually watch a film based on a man that turned a blind eye to an alleged child molester responsible for so many families' pain.

The hero worship by some students and hardcore Penn State fans for Paterno incited riots last year and was frightening to observers, who could not believe sports trumped damning evidence. The proposed Paterno film could be great, but it remains to be seen whether people will want to spend their hard earned money on a story about a man that was not as innocent as he came off before 2011--especially if it paints him in a favorable light.

I had a funny feeling the Hollywood types would try to make a buck out of a sad situation. Don't think folks are ready for that yet.

Yes, Hollywierd is always happy to make a buck on the tragedy of child molestation and it's enablers.

Nasty lot out there. No wonder it is a valueless, anti American values cesspool.

I love al pacino, but I hate seeing him play bad guys ( i met him once, andf he was so soft spoken and gentle, I just have a hard time seeing him playing somebody disgusting). Even though he's not the same kind of actor (he HAS played many a bad guy), I put him in the same category as some actors that should NEVER play bad guy roles: The late Andy Griffith, DIck Van Dyke, and Bill Cosby; I wouldnt be able to handle them in bad guy roles, either; then again, they would never be cast as bad guys because America loves them too much as good guys:))

I love Al Pacino, but I would absolutely not watch this. I imagine there must have been some internal struggle on Paterno's part -- but there should not have been. He did the wrong thing. It was disgusting, and he deserves no glory for allowing this to happen.

He covered up for the bad guy and enabled him to be a bad guy by not taking away his access and continuing to support the man. It is kind of like standing as lookout while your friend steals a bunch of clothes-except this wasn't clothes.

What did he do about it? How long did he let it go on? Yep there was an investigation and you're right he "DID" do something, which was to hide it!

This movie might bring forward previously latent offenses that have occurred in other scholastic and religious venues as exposed about F Gilbert Gauthe by attorney Ray Mouton of Lafayette, LA., and writer Jason Berry as noted in http://www.catholicsexabuse.com (Notes on the manual, pt. 3)

Hollywood and most of the actors, actresses suck, many of the tv movies stink and the dumb reality tv is cheap poor quality entertainment. I will watch Clint Eastwood movies or Jon Voight and a few others actors productions only. Hollywood for the most part has lost its creditability and integrity so I wouldn't trust them to tell the full truth, they have become to political and liberal. I enjoy my WHO Radio Programing, no BS to deal with.
