I do not like this band anymore. The more youthful they were the better. They're an example of a band whose fame and money has made them complete douchebags. I'd much rather see a less known act on the same day and support them because money is a problem for them. Metallica will never go poor. People will always go to their concerts no matter how bad they sound live.
Plus you can't shill off records that you were too lazy to make for years and call it amazing. I feel that way about Tool (on 10,000 days, I don't like that album), except I don't think they're douchebags, let alone pretentious people. I refuse to give Metallica credit as amazing musicians just because they inspired a lot of musicians I listen to now that I still like. If you grow into like music, you can also grow out. And I dislike Metallica more and more and time goes by. If you're a fan - cool. I don't care.

Metallica has announced that they are hosting their second annual Orion Music + More festival in Detroit this summer. The line-up hasn't been released yet, but if metal music isn't your thing you might still enjoy it -- last year they headlined both nights but booked diverse bands like Best Coast, Modest Mouse and the Arctic Monkeys.
Fans of the metal band are looking forward to the event and hoping that they continue the tradition of playing through entire albums. In 2012, they performed "Ride the Lightning" in its entirety the first night, and "Metallica" (aka "The Black Album") the next.
What do you think of the Music + More festival? If it does well again this year, they might continue and it could become a festival staple. Would you be interested in going? I just hope they don't play all the way through "St. Anger"...

I am reduced to seeing start up bands that basically nobody has heard of yet. They play to the other bands on the gig lineup, probably a scene that many bands that make it bid miss at least a little.
Are you guys still angry about Lars taking a stance on music downloading? Cause Lars was correct in taking his stance. Look at what downloading and music piracy have done to the industry. Sales have plummeted. Records & CDs remain on shelves. Bands aren't making the money they used to.The glory days of stadium rock, glam metal, thrash metal, grunge, nu metal,& pop punk are gone cause of this, and likely never to return cause fans are more interested in saving themselves and each other some quick bucks. Why support good music when you can download?
And whats the problem with St.Anger? Who cares if it doesn't have any solos from Kirk Hammett? That album is heavy.
I would have killed to see Metallica with Dave.
But no. I had to be born in '93. >:(
