Are You Happy the Miami Heat Won the NBA Championship?

Big news on the basketball front! LeBron James and the modern-day Miami Heat have finally won that elusive NBA Championship. LeBron was already widely regarded as the best player in the NBA and a ring for “The King” cements that. He not only banked a triple double in the closeout Game 5 against the Oklahoma City Thunder, but won the Finals MVP award as well. He also won his third MVP award this past season, putting him in rare, Hall-of-Fame-level company.

It wasn't all LeBron James on Thursday night though. Former Sixth Man of The Year Mike Miller, stepped up big, hitting seven three pointers and clocking in 23 points overall. Miller battled injuries and the stress of being the parent of a child with serious health issues the last couple of seasons, but he played a huge role in the closeout game that was sure to be a great reward for his tough road.

Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh did their part, too. As Wade told ABC and ESPN in an interview during the postseason, the Heat are now LeBron James' team. Wade may have been there longer and won a ring before, but whatever changes he and the squad made this year, it obviously worked and led to an awesome result. Well, for Heat fans anyway. As for the young Thunder team, with a core that's an average age of 23, don't be surprised if they're back to the promise land soon enough. Are you happy the Miami Heat won the 2012 NBA Championship?

I am very happy for Lebron James, and I think this year he played with more sportsmanship and maturity. I was roooting for him all the way, he finally has a ring and a championship.

Really indifferent, actually. I still don't think LeBron is as good as Michael Jordan, though his numbers are pretty staggering.

I agree that Lebron is not as good as Michael, who is? However, I think that he grew up after that lost last year, and he played some awesome ball.

I normally could care less about thug ball. But living close to Cleveland and seeing what LaBron did I was hoping Miami would end up in last place. Oh well as we say in Cleveland. Maybe next year.

I am not trying to start an argument, but the Cleveland fans should get over it, LeBron is young, and had a opportunity to better his career and he took advantage of that. His break didn't come last year, but this year no doubt one of his dreams came true. I am a die hard Pittsburgh Steeler fan, and every now and then (not often), but every now and then I even feel bad for the Cleveland Browns because it seems like the Browns just can't catch a break. God knows that Cleveland dog pound could improve a lot, but I don't guess you view it as being thugish. Last place just wasn't in the cards for LeBron James.

First were talking about thugball. Not football. There is a big difference. In the playoffs he CHOKED! It was here and he blew it. It was not fair to the players or the fans. Keep him in Miami. He's not welcome here.

Fix. Refs are dumb and blind. Kind of reminiscent to the 99 Stanley Cup Finals between Dallas Stars and Buffalo Sabres. Stars didn't deserve the Cup because Brett Hull's skate was in the crease. But the refs turned a blind eye to that and gave the Cup to Dallas. Same thing in the NBA Finals. LeBron James gets away with so much only because the refs don't care. They really don't. Isn't that why Derrick Rose was out of commission for most of the games this season?

There is a God in Heaven. Justice has prevailed.. the best team won!

Lebron James has silenced his critics through superior play, superior thought, superior strategy, and superior leadership.

Mazel Tovs to Lebron, Bosh, Wade, Miller, and the entire Heat Family in Miami.

No. That game was straight up rigged. The refs called every call under the sun for the Heat, yet the Thunder's could hardly get foul calls. Last night's game was over the top ridiculous with the refs. The game was not called fairly at all. I feel bad for the OKc Thunder's because they were the better team and they got cheated out of a title win that was supposed to be theirs.

I don't care about basketball that much. How can I care about a sport that took away my dream of being an Olympic medal winner in long distance running. Let me explain.

My half-brother(not the one that passed away last year) and I went to a friends place to play a pickup basketball game. Anyway, while playing, I made a jump shot, only when I came down I heard a pop and I screamed so loud. My half-brother and his friends carried me back to the house, where my parents called the doctor, When we arrived at the doctors office, he gave me an x-ray and told me my ligaments were torn. That shot my dream of being a long distance runner in the Olympics, which my coach said while I was in junior high school. At short distances, I sucked, but long distances, I got stronger and stronger as the run went on. In most track meets, I would place either 1st or second in the 1000 and 2000 meters. But that one shot took my dreams away. Ever since then, I haven't been a fan of basketball too much. I don't hate the game, but I don't love it, either.
