Big news on the basketball front! LeBron James and the modern-day Miami Heat have finally won that elusive NBA Championship. LeBron was already widely regarded as the best player in the NBA and a ring for “The King” cements that. He not only banked a triple double in the closeout Game 5 against the Oklahoma City Thunder, but won the Finals MVP award as well. He also won his third MVP award this past season, putting him in rare, Hall-of-Fame-level company.

It wasn't all LeBron James on Thursday night though. Former Sixth Man of The Year Mike Miller, stepped up big, hitting seven three pointers and clocking in 23 points overall. Miller battled injuries and the stress of being the parent of a child with serious health issues the last couple of seasons, but he played a huge role in the closeout game that was sure to be a great reward for his tough road.

Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh did their part, too. As Wade told ABC and ESPN in an interview during the postseason, the Heat are now LeBron James' team. Wade may have been there longer and won a ring before, but whatever changes he and the squad made this year, it obviously worked and led to an awesome result. Well, for Heat fans anyway. As for the young Thunder team, with a core that's an average age of 23, don't be surprised if they're back to the promise land soon enough. Are you happy the Miami Heat won the 2012 NBA Championship?

It was fixed..Just like pro boxing...NBA officials were busted a couple years ago on taking bribes...I knew it was fixed when Lebron fouled Durant at the end of game 2 ,which would have sent the game to overtime..

When you make $50 million a year money ceases to motivate... it's Pride and Respect.

Lebron has both... and will continue to dominate.

Who the F cares... bunch of genetic freaks, who can run back and forth. Besides you only need to watch the last two minutes of any game and you'll see it all. Mind you, the last two minutes will take a fricking half an hour, but you'll see the games conclusion. I hope Lebron & company continue to assemble his "dream team"... so that they can win it again and again and again and again.. till it's so nauseating that no one watches at all... part of the joy of watching professional sports is watching teams struggle, digging deep to play over their heads at times, to see teams working together...to light the spark to the talent that at times is hidden. Putting a team together the likes of what LeBron did is similar to what Steinbrenner did. Pay your league top performers to play together. Not interested... I'm more interested in watching a group or TEAM that has some foibles, some faults, and actually has to go up against the odds and not a bunch of whiney, bitchy, egomaniacle children.

I didn't want Lebron James to get a ring. I know that's unfair to the whole team but he's such an arrogant @#!#!@! I was hoping he'd have to wait a few years.

I was rooting for them. I like to see good players have rings. It pains me to see the likes of Charles Barkley and Karl Malone with no hardware. I would hate for LeBron to suffer the same fate.

I agree with you, during the football season, I feel for the guys that are on teams that are struggling, because their chances of getting a ring or getting to a superbowl is slim and none. LeBron has been MVP several times, even when he was in Cleveland, so finally because of a team effort, and awesome playing on his part, he won a championship game and soon will be sporting his ring. The Heat are the Champions
