Looks like that Twinkie you've been harboring in your desk drawer for the last couple years will last longer than its maker. Friday morning, Twinkie-loving snackers, stoners and junk food aficionados across the globe felt a deep pang of loss. Hostess Brands Inc., the company that makes Twinkies, Ding Dongs and Wonder Bread, has shut down all baking operations, according to a company release.

The dictatorial left strikes again. Because of the political correct Health Police, there will soon be no fun food left to eat. And because of greedy union bosses, demanding higher pay and higher benefits for employees regardless of performance, private corporations won't be able to survive. But hey, public sector unions are okay, right? Sure, as long as us taxpayers keep them in business!

Haven't eaten that crap in over a decade (and I'm only in my 20's...that has to say SOMETHING for the world!). Now...Little Debbies....I would cry if they went out of business any time soon...I love their products (but still rarely eat them...home made is so much better...and cheaper!)

I've been eating hostess cupcakes and it's other products since I was little. But some years ago they changed the ingredients to include high fructose corn syrup rather than real sugar. I don't care how many people deny it but it changed the taste and I stopped eating them. Twinkies were the last ones standing to have real sugar. And just recently it changed with them also. Bleah.

Similar happened to Arnotts biscuits in Sth.Australia bought out by American umbrella & changed the recipes , not the same... over it find new thing.

every solitary one of those treats, and then some. I sure hope that those mediation
sessions bear some fruit, otherwise we're in for a tremendous loss.

Yes Hostess is out of business...BUT....they have (or are in talks to) sold the Twinkie recipe to Lil' Debbie. So we'll still have Twinkies, they'll just be made by another company.

Today you can get much better tasting (and better ingredients) treats anywhere that Hostess is sold. From gas stations to grocery stores...there are better options that cost less. Clueless executives ran the company into the ground.

The drags on society are the corporations who use government subsidies to corner markets and put other companies out of business. Then they run the company into the ground extracting as much cash as they can until it all comes crashing down around them. Then the morons point the fingers at the unions because they don't want to face the reality that they have been taking Reaganomics up the backside for 30 years and they just realized that the trickle down smells like urine.

The only withdrawals I suffer is from caffeine. I hadn't had twinkies in over a year. If you really like Hostess, buy 'em up and don't support the Union system.

Uh… up here in Canada, we have high youth unemployment but companies are are allowing to import workers from 3d world countries.

We are SIMILAR in that regard, illegal or not, 3rd World labor are being used by (richer?) employers to 'scab' the local ones.
See no difference by which MEANS they enter our nations, refugee, people trafficking or corporate sweatshops.
