Roger Daltrey, front man of the legendary rock group 'The Who' recently confirmed that the band will be recording a new album over the summer. Their last album was released nearly a decade ago, in 2006.

Pete Townsend is said to have written over 100 songs, and the band scheduled recording in May and July. Daltrey is also reportedly working on a memoir about the band, that has been together for five decades.

What do you say Sodaheads? Are you a fan of 'The Who' or not so much? Is their album something to look forward to, or are their best years behind them? Of course, younger generations are probably thinking...who?

'The Who' is a wonderful band, even if they are sadly missing two great original members.

Show 'em that Rock n' Roll is Ageless, boys!

I love the Who they have a lot of great tunes and when one mentions the fab 5 or the Stones you have to mention the Who as one of the most ironic bands in the 60's and now. They were rebels before being a rebel was cool.

Excited is not the right word, but I'm still interested in it. Of course the glory days are over without Moon the Loon and the Ox. Still listen a lot to their old records.

Out of the bands from that era, I care more for Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Pink Floyd, Barclay James Harvest or KISS, et al.

I'm a huge fan of The Who. But honestly, their best work was with Keith Moon. With out Entwhistle and Moon...it's just not the same band. On the other hand, Daltrey and Townshend are great rock musicians and artists, so the album will certainly be worth checking out.

they should have picked a more powerful bassist [musically] no one can replace entwhistle . pino is good but I think they could have picked a better bassist .

I guess they changed their minds...........................

I saw them in their prime, and they were one of the best...... They showed
their age at a recent Super Bowl, and I think I would like to remember them
as they were rather than desperate old men.

If they've got Pete and Roger, it's pretty much The Who. Keith Moon has been dead for a long long time.

Not so much for me, but for them. It gets hard to keep making new music that is compelling. I'm a big fan, but have my doubts that I would feel any different than I do about the last several Stones albums. For the band, though, they get tired of the same old songs and still have the creative drive. They have a need to create and new songs keeps their interest alive and their lives vibrant.

and no. Pete writes songs that are always timely, for that yes I would be interested in hearing. With 50% of the band breathing, no I think in some ways it's wrong to call themselves by that name...Maybe call it Roger and Pete, or get with Paul and Ringo which would fill all the deceased
players of both bands-which is kind of strange and Ironic all at once, and call it "Whotles" :)
