The Major League Baseball playoffs have seen their fare share of great pitching, clutch hitting, close games, and dominant performances this week -- especially in the quad set of Game Fours. And one team has already punched their ticket to the American League Championship Series, defending AL Champion Texas Rangers.
The Rangers eliminated the Tampa Bay Rays in the ALDS, the former cinderella team in baseball (final score 4-3.) The Philadelphia Phillies won another close National League Division Series game against the St. Louis Cardinals 3-2. Philadelphia is one win away from the NL Championship Series.
The Arizona Diamondbacks kept their World Series dreams alive with a dominant 8-1 NLDS win over the Milwaukee Brewers. However, no team was as dominant in its respective Game 4 than the New York Yankees, who rallied behind often-criticized pitcher A.J. Burnett for a huge win over the Detroit Tigers.
The Yankees' batters certainly helped Burnett's cause, rattling off runs like it was nothing for a final score of 10-1. The Yankees and Tigers are one win away from facing the Rangers in the ALCS. Based of these Game 4s, the Rangers look to be an early World Series favorite.
As the Divisional Series has shown fans--a series isn't over until it's over. The real winners in all of this? The baseball fans.

I'm loving it at the moment. Just spent the last two nights in the stands watching the Cards split two tight games with the Phils. Well watching that and Busch Squirrel...
Game 5 coming up. If we lose, oh well. We showed very well and gave the Phils a scare. If we win? Who knows what could happen? 11th World Title in 2011?
my baseball season ended when the Red Sox self immolated.
WHAT?
;-)
in their commanding period, i'd have stacked them up against anyone. in their pitiful stages, they could well have been the worst team in baseball. i've never seen anything like it.
Could it be? Another one of these?
