im not the kind to throw myself away freely. however once i start loving the person its hard for me to let go (if the love me back). so its harder for me to let go of the one i love than that person getting me to love them.

You don't think that someone can have the presents and dinners while having a good, honest relationship at the same time? What about romance? Chivalry? It's not expected but it's nice and speaks volumes about what a gentleman he is. To say that most women don't want to be romanced and swept off their feet would be lying.

Of course romance is important, but the dinners and presents should be because he loves you, not so he can eventually get in your pants. Women love being swept off their feet, but not just so he can get what he wants and leave. THAT is the difference.

How would receiving subtle displays of affection or adoration contribute to him leaving once you've slept together? Infact, if he's that determined to be with you and is putting that much effort in then unless you have beer flavored nipples there's clearly something about you that he's already drawn to. He thinks you're worth romancing and in this day and age that's rare especially considering how many easy women there is out there who he can have a purely physical relationship with if that's all he's interested in.

I think you're misunderstanding my point. There is absolutely nothing wrong with giving and receiving romantic gifts. It's the thought process behind it that matters.
Thought process 1:
Girl: "I want expensive dinners and presents, so I'm not going to give him sex until I get those things."
Guy: "I want sex, so I'm going to give her stuff until she has sex with me."
^That's basically prostitution.
Thought process 2:
Girl: "I love him, and I'm going to have sex with him when I'm ready."
Guy: "I love her, so I'm going to give her gifts to show it."
^ That's a healthy relationship.

See the difference?

Okay, this has wasted both of our time long enough. All I was trying to get across was that being easy is not the way to be romanced and he definitely won't fall in love with you either because he likely won't take the time to get to know you if he thinks he already has you all figured out. If you don't agree with what I said or how I chose to word it then that's fine, we can agree to disagree. By the way, you seem like a very independant and intelligent woman so good for you.
