I hadn't heard this song in a long time and the other day my son was listening to it and I got to thinking: Are we as a nation close to the edge and trying not to lose our head?

I never heard this song before but in light of what has been happening all over the country and the fact that the information age puts everything at one's fingertips in literally minutes these days which is 80% bad news, those who through the power of broadcasting, incite fear with lies and yellow journalism, yes, we are heading into the abyss.
It scares the CRAP out of me. My poor kids!!!

Yeah Artist, this song came out in the early 80s and it was powerful then but I think the message is even more relevant today!

that depends a great deal on what you mean by "close to the edge." i think we are hanging on to the edge with a pinky finger and a ring finger, and unless Ceiling Cat descends upon us with his holy wind-up mouse, we're screwed.
