Are the Knicks Playing to Their Full Potential?

LinMania, Linsanity -- whatever you want to call it, really -- has clearly turned around the New York Knicks' season. And while more often than not, guard Jeremy Lin has played lights out, there are times, such as Thursday night against the Miami Heat, where he was shut out. The Heat dominated the Knicks to a 102-88 victory.

Lin had only eight points and eight turnovers, but to his credit, offered no excuses for his poor play. In reality, the Knicks played and lost to the better team -- the reigning Eastern Conference Champions. But that doesn't excuse the fact that the two All-Star players of the team -- Amar'e Stoudemire and Carmelo Anthony -- didn't step up to the plate to pick up the slack.

Lin needs help. The role players on the Knicks can only do so much. Stoudemire is still reeling from the tragic loss of his brother a few weeks back and Anthony is getting back in the swing of things following a recent injury. But New York is New York and fans expect the best from a team that looks good on paper sooner than later. They're in the playoffs for now, but whether the New York Knicks can get there and make a legitimate impact is still up for debate.

Not yet, Melo and Amare have to readjust to sync with Lin. Lin has to adjust his turnover ratio. It should all come together for the first playoff game for the Knicks in what seems like forever. I've give them the 7 or eight seed this year.

They Depend too much on Lin. If he has an off day... It's his fault, If he's the star of the game... He's a ball hog.

Of course not. Their name is all wrong for a start. They should be called the New York Knickers and wear some. Mind you they might well be stalked by bumboys.

The chemistry is not there yet, with the return of Carmello the additions of JR Smith and Baron Davis the Knicks are going to have find which rotations work best. Once that is settled i think u will see New York play better ball consistently.

They should not be expected to be playing at their full potential at this point. They lost to the Heat but were not run over really. Carmelo just got back and there has been no practice time for the team to get a routine down with Lin running the offense. They have some weapons now, and without the turnovers could have beat Miami. I'm excited for the Knicks and wish I had known Lin was so good. The tickets are sky high now.

Lin is a rookie; he had some "beginner's luck". He should have jumped on Mello's back on Stoudamire's back and rode the game with the Heat. He is not ready to be a DWade or Kobie just yet.

Last night on a late offensive set, Lin hit Melo, who sucked up the defensive energy leaving Smith breaking down the baseline..Bam! What happened could be the future of the Knicks. All it will take is the impossible...Melo has to think pass first. It will be fun to watch.

Lin has done alot to rejuvenate this club almost singlehandedly. i think the guy is tired as hell and stressed out. Its ok to have a bad game every once in a while!!
