It was qutie excellent, actually. The modern take on the story was fantastically done, and the actors were brilliant. Check out more info here and here

I'm a bit wary when it comes to Shakespeare adaptations, but if it's well cast and portrayed, could be good.
    Cheers

Well, an actor has to be quite good to play a Shakespearean role effectively. There's few around, so that's the main reason I'm wary of Shakespeare adaptations.
Someone such as Gary Oldman is capable, but there's only so many roles he could portray because many of the Shakespeare characters are younger than he is.

Well put, I wouldn't trust a very commercial adaptation of a Shakespearean play, but I find the independent films tend to cast people for their acting ability and not just their appearance. This was a lovely little gem out of Australia, I caught two years ago at the Toronto International Film Festival, and generally, TIFF films are worth checking out.

But I am sure it would be a good flick. Normally, I don't really get down with those types of movies, but since your one of those Thespian type chics, I am sure it would be right up your alley.

Actually, even from a the standpoint of a non-theatrical person, I'd say it's enjoyable. The modernization makes it easier to relate to for people who wouldn't normally get Shakespeare. And it's a well done film, from both artistic and technical aspects.

I liked the modernized version of Romeo and Juliet with Decaprio. It is pretty tuff. I have it on dvd.

Haha, I have that one too. I don't particularly like Romeo and Juliet though, it's my least favourite of his works. But the Baz Luhrmann adaptation was amusing.
