I'm not a fan of mainstream hip hop but I love hip hop from the golden era and the 80s. J.cole is a good artists too. I luv the WU-TANG CLAN!!

i agree... the older artists are much better. im not a ffan of the mac miller's and wiz khalifa's right now. lil wayne and kanye west are the newer rappers ill listen to but thats about it.

...But I don't think it is fair to put a slash symbol between rap and hip hop. They are worlds apart. Rap is a type of music and hip hop is an entire culture. I personally hate rap music. I like low, bass and slow beats, but rappers are pretty awful. MCs, on the other hand, put a lot into what they do. Hip hop also encorrperates mixing, scratching, and visual art.

i like hip hop and rap but i do not like rock music or country cause i am not a fan of rock or country i love hip hop and rap i like chris brown,katy perry,jordan sparks,the black eye peas,nicki minaj,lil wayne,drake,rihanna,t.i,will.... kingston but i like all the singers and rappers but my most favorite singers is chris brown,nicki minaj,rihanna,t.i,drake,katy perry,kanye west,jay-z,t-pain the reason why i love hip hop and rap cause it has swearing and i swear alot and hip hop and rapping is the most popular music ever add me as a friend if you agree with me :)

According to the poll most do disagree with me. I fail to see what's so great about it. The dances aren't particularly good compared to electronica, I didn't grow up in the ghetto so I don't relate, and it's political views are garbage as their basically is none compared to litterally every other music. Nothing different coming out of this portion of the music spectrum coming from a musician of nearly 20yrs standpoint.

Indeed, I enjoy the first wave and 90's rap years, however it was evident then that there weren't many places to take this artform relatively fast.(It was on repeat really fast.)

I'm "a child of the '70's" and love my hard rock. I do listen to some hip hop/rap on occasion when I'm flipping through the music videos, but I love my electric guitars.
