On Monday, Anne Hathaway suffered an unfortunate wardrobe malfunction at the “Les Miserables” premiere in New York. According to the New York Daily News, she has now spoken to Vanity Fair’s Ingrid Sischy about the unfortunate moment when her Tom Ford dressed hiked up as she was getting out of a car.

Apparently, she said "my dress was so tight that I didn't realize it until I saw all the photographers' flashes," and describes the event as “devastating,” adding “I might as well have lifted up my skirt for them."

Anne Hathaway

She also spoke about the incident on the Today Show, saying that it’s “very sad that we live in an age when someone takes a picture of another person in a vulnerable moment and rather than delete it, and do the decent thing, sells it.”

She even managed to relate the event to “Les Miserables,”saying “I'm sorry that we live in a culture that commodifies sexuality of unwilling participants, which brings us back to 'Les Mis,' that's what my character is, she is someone who is forced to sell sex to benefit her child because she has nothing and there's no social safety net." Do you think that wardrobe malfunctions are devastating, like Anne Hathaway says?

To start is it not a "malfunction". That is when something fails to operate as it should. If the dress ripped, fell off, strap break, etc. THAT would be a wardrobe malfunction. This was an upskirt incident in which she elected not to wear underwear.

We had a great social safety net until the liberals ripped all morals out of society and left nothing but mindless selfish pigs, does she really not understand her own politics are what lead us to the point we are in society?

Are you implying that conservatives are all altruistic and self-sacrificing and liberals want to take everything away, such as food stamps, medicaid and insurance? That doesn't really fit with what I've seen of society, and nor with my understanding of the word "liberal."

Of course not. She is a liberal.

She worried about selling sex yet does it herself.

" she said "my dress was so tight that I didn't realize it until I saw all the photographers'"

    Okay..

The slit was up to her chin. She was wearing no undergarments. The dress was so tight.

"“I'm sorry that we live in a culture that commodifies sexuality of unwilling participants, which brings us back to 'Les Mis,'" Then she has the nerve of saying this... sex sells.. she knows it.. and she sells it.

Devastating is a pretty strong word.......I'm sure Mz. Hathaway was flustered by the mishap, but if you worry about showing to much you should wear underwear.....Afterall Mom always said be sure your underwear isn't full of holes in case you get in an accident or something.....She never said make sure you don't wear underwear in case you're going to get your picture taken......

Read the story again.....although that probably is a noteworthy trick - get out of a car armed with a camera, which you aim at your crotch, notice phtographers lining up but still maintain the ability to to take one hell of a crotch shot......

Devastating is losing a family member or ones entire home in a natural disaster. Devastating is learning you have a terminal illness and limited time on this Earth. Devastating is NOT a slip of the dress or the misplacement of a hemline. Could be mildly embarrassing. But devastating is by far a MASSIVE overstatement.

Well I could be technical about it. I didn't think using those terms was appropriate considering minors may be reading this.

    Either way.. The point stands.

Right... first, I'm not a minor. Two, you are acting younger than you are for labeling something that was an accident after a celebrity. Umm.. duh. Only middle schoolers would do that and, considering your comment just now, we aren't in middle school anymore. So you can call it what you want but obviously someone is acting more mature than the other and that would not be you.

Nice of you to judge. Accident? yeah right. So I am acting younger than I am. Sue me. I wasn't the one who used the word "duh".

Let me guess... Since I tried to do the right thing.. you still like to berate someone... I wasn't the one going out waving my hoohaa around in a tight (by her own admission) without undies on with a slit up to her chin... Seriously... is there anyone home inside?

Sorry.. that isn't very mature of you.

"She could have flashed everybody the parts of her that no woman, hopefully, wants to flash" your quote... get out much?

Seriously, what kind of woman does not wear underwear? And what kind of woman hikes a dress up that high, just to get out of a car?

Anne Hathaway knew EXACTLY what she was doing. She's a slut!

Well this one wasn't. Although it is sad she is exploited like this, and we have become such a sexualized prying society. You really don't see anything just some of her landing strip, she shows more in her movies.
