Allen Iverson will come off the bench after injury

What are the odds during the preseason that a superstar like Allen Iverson was going to come off the bench? I know he's getting old, but what a huge dropoff in performance this season! Rodney Stuckey has been playing at his level or better and really, the Pistons aren't going to miss him too much as he sits out for two weeks with a sore back.

Check out his 2007-08 stats: 26.4 points, 3.0 rebounds, 7.2 assists, 2.0 steals, while shooting 45.8%

with his stats this season as a Piston: 18.0 points, 3.2 rebounds, 5.0 assists, 1.7 steals, with 41.7% FG

Is A.I. no longer an elite player?

I don't think that's the case. He's just on a team that doesn't fit him well. He's more of an explosive, run from baseline to baseline and score, player. Detroit runs a slower kinda offense because they're more focused on playing good defense. Look at Rip Hamilton, he does just fine there because he's used to playing this pace and knows to let the game come to him. Iverson is still trying to run and force the action while his teammates are jogging behind him because that's not the style they play. I think it's a good idea to bring him off the bench, but just because Detroit brought in the wrong player for their system. If he goes to a team like Phoenix he'd probably get his numbers right back up there because of the style they play.
