Marrying a yoga instructor is probably both a good personal and professional move for Alec Baldwin. Not only does the slimmed-down actor look sexier than he has in years, but she just may finally be able to help him heal his life force a bit, too. Just days after Baldwin’s second run-in with the paparazzi in a week, there’s obviously still some serious work to be done. But it seems like Baldwin might have taken the first step toward serious introspection recently by quitting Twitter.
The “30 Rock” star has been active on the social network for a long time. Using it to sound off about politics, chatting with celebrity friends and complaining about American Airlines. His run-in with a flight attendant over his game of “Words with Friends,” caused Baldwin to deactivate his account the first time.
The celebrity hasn’t given a reason for this latest social media blackout. But it’s hard to ignore the timing in relationship to his latest public confrontations and a new “Vanity Fair” article in which he admits to sometimes behaving “childishly” with the paps. So does Baldwin’s final message of “It’s been fun” mean he’ll be gone for good? His new bride is still tweeting under the new handle of @hilariabaldwin — so it doesn’t seem like he’s just taking a honeymoon break.

Maybe he’s using his new marriage as a reason to regroup and get some perspective on life. That could include embracing a much more private way of existence. In this technology fueled world of over-sharing, the concept of being not so public does sound appealing — even for the non-famous. So we wonder: Have you ever quit a social media site?
