I've said it once, I'll say it again... Just one word: OVERRATED.

Is it tragic? No, but it sure as HECK isn't terrific. It's a whiny album about nothing but heartbreak. Geez, A Dell, would it kill you to show some HAPPY?!

And I don't mean by flying your pet birds either!

Adele's '21' Album deserve top honors. Whitney Houston was a very charismatic singer, very soulful. That style of singing, screaming out, breaking up or quivering vocal chords to reach high notes is becoming too common place .Dolly Parton sang "I Will Always Love You" beautifully natural. If you can't hold the high notes don't improvise. Too many songs are sounding like Baptist Gospel.

It's a good album, with good music.

Sure the subject matter is th same, but it isn't told in the exact same way like Taylor Swift or Bieber.

She's a very talented singer, while she is no Whitney Houston, I believe she writes better songs.

I like her 'semi-bluesy-ness' element in her music that you just plain out do not hear on the radio anymore.

Many singers scream out song lyrics instead of singing in the right key. Whitney Houston did this, a habit of many singers who started singing church Gospel. These singers break and quiver their vocal chords while singing which often changes notes. They are masquerading notes they can't hit.

Whitney Houston had a strong voice, but as many former Gospel singers she screamed out too much, and when not able to hold high notes for long she chopped the notes with her vocal chords. Too much improvision. "The Bodyguard" was only a two star movie. The person who deserved a big send off was Etta James. Etta James was a real legend. Why was Etta James not memorialized as Whitney Houston was.?

Let's get one thing straight. NO ONE was talking about Whitney Houston over the past decade until she died. Then suddenly she's the greatest singer ever. People need to stop getting so wrapped up in the death of someone they don't know. It's actually unfair to the family who really does care.

Can't agree with you more! It's ok to sing about heartbreak, but that's the only thing she sings about.... real talented artist can express many different feelings and ideas!

I know right?? I mean don't get me wrong, she is talented, but she didn't deserve to sweep the grammys like she did. There have been other singers just as good if not better than her who sang their hearts out about their own struggles, and they didn't even get a nomination.

I can't tell you how sick I am already of seeing her pop up everywhere. At first I was supportive of her, but now I'm just tired of all the praise she gets nonstop. :\

Agree completely. -.- I used to like her.... USED to.

My interest in her strongly declined when it seemed like the media just couldn't SHUT UP about her. And when she swept the Grammys ON AN ALBUM ALL ABOUT HEARTBREAK, I was disappointed. Heavily. Can I cry into a microphone and make millions too? Is THAT all it takes?!

And then this... yeah Adele, you've crashed and burned in my eyes. And I still with people would STFU about her. >__>

It isn't about heartbreak, only one of the songs in the album is about being heartbroken, and that is the last one. The rest of the album is, while in relation to breaking up with her ex are not done is the same sort of way, they are defiantly more up-beat.

To be fair, it's far better for a singer to write from personal experience and emotions, than random crap. No? I'm sure if she get engaged she will also do a album in relation to that, for example.

Also you seem to make the claim "I liked her, before she got popular and now that she is famous i don't like her any more", that is awfully hipster like...

I agree. Not every one likes her music and her music doesn’t appeal to everyone, but that’s not the point; the point is that she's talented and anyone with ears can understand that.

Oh and the fact that she throws up middle fingers is just another example of the fact that she's singing with true feelings. No i would never flip off an audience of people but she knows what some people are thinking when she does something like that and its her choice if she wants to do it anyway.

I won't call it tragic (as usual Sodahead has limited choices of answers) but it's not "terrific" either... I'm not a big fan of her music. Sounds plain and boring. The way she sings I feel like she is trying too hard impress people. It doesn't sound natural.

I was surprised to hear that she was influenced by Jill Scott.... I'm a huge fan of Jill, I love her music.....but not Adele's... :P

It was going to be broken anyway so why not by the amazing Adele? at least it was broken by a talented singer and not one of those fake publicity artists. They are both amazing singers who deserve titles like this.
