Adele Tops 2012 Worldwide Sales for the Second Year in a Row: Do You Own Her '21' Album?

For the second year in a row Adele's 21 topped 2012 global album sales with an impressive total of 8.3 million copies, beating out Taylor Swift's Red (5.2 million copies globally) and two One Direction albums.

After winning an Oscar for "Best Song" last weekend, Adele is at the top of her game. We know most of you SodaHeads love her, but how many of you actually own 21? Did you contribute to her album sales?

As if winning an Oscar wasn't enough, Adele can also lay claim to the fact that her 21 sold more worldwide than any other album in 2012. (By the way, 21 did the same thing in 2011, the year it was released.)

Honestly not that huge of an Adele fan. I can feel the raw emotion in what she sings but I don't think that her writing is on point. Of course, that's my personal opinion. I'm sure I'm in the minority and many people admire her way of wording. :)

The best selling album of all time was heard by less than 1% of the world population. Adele has made a temporary dent, but she had yet to do anything likely to be remembered in a few years.

Only because my sister bought it for my eighteenth birthday. I think she wanted to me to keep up with popular music culture, and felt it her eldest sister duty to help me in such a matter. haha I listen to a wide range of music, but generally songs of which date much older than Adele. :)

I've already ranted about this, so I'll keep it simple. I don't think she's as talented as people like to pretend. Having a great voice and knowing how to use it are two vital elements of it, and she, unfortunately, only fits one of those two bills.

I blame producers, record execs, and the music industry in general.
