It's been more than three months since the 54th Grammy Awards, where singer-songwriter Adele stole the show with six awards -- including Album of the Year. The Billboard Music Awards, run by the same publication that keeps track of record sales and official charting positions, aren't quite as prestigious. But they count for something, and after Sunday's ceremony, Adele's going to need a few more shelves in that trophy case.
The "Rolling in the Deep" songstress received 12 of Billboard's 46 awards: Top Artist, Top Female Artist, Top Billboard 200 Artist, Top Hot 100 Artist, Top Digital Songs Artist... You get the point. However, unlike the Grammys, these awards are not "decided." These awards are earned. Each one is awarded to the artist who performs best on the charts -- that means album sales, air play, Nielsen data, downloads, all play into the ceremony. So, do you think Adele's music is worth the hype?

She's a talented girl, yes, but nothing THAT special. She just seems special because she's managed to break into the mainstream, and yeah, good for her, but that doesn't mean she's the greatest singer/songwriter in the world.
But for some reason I can’t get into her music. I can’t dance to it, or really enjoy it in general. It’s kind of just.. There.
Plus the fact the young lady seems to be battling the bulge which endears her to many women. She has many 'looks' acheived by plain ole, good ole make-up. She doesn't need feathers, sequins, glitter and a T-bone to be noticed or excel in her art.
Sadly though she's the only thing offered these days with a real talented voice. Aside from the ever-amazing Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Kelly Clarkson, and a sparse few others, every other recent "artist" gets by with bloody auto-tune.
Sad, really. Very sad. I would MUCH rather the Adele hype phase be over and done with. It's gone on more than long enough for someone who isn't THAT spectacular.
