According to a new biography by Marc Shapiro, Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Adele may have struggled with alcoholism in her earlier years. Though she was only 19 years old when she released her first album, "Adele: The Biography" claims she was doing some heavy drinking early on in career. Find out another detail about the singer at :50 in the video below.
The 24-year-old singer once said in an interview, "I got so drunk by the time I went on at 2 a.m. I had forgotten the words to my own songs... It was the worst thing ever." Shapiro writes, "Adele would drink more than normal to salve the heartbreak ... Midway through her first tour [between 2008 and 2009], she allegedly had a drinking problem." Are you surprised by the news that Adele was once an alcoholic?

To those that keep bringing up her weight, there are many reasons why a person may be overweight and making comments about it here is just being ugly !!
It just seems to be en vogue to discuss these issues publicly. IF I had such an affliction in MY past, I would want it to STAY in the past!
Also, addiction is never something one can use past tense to discuss! There is NO cure! IF an addict picks up again, in terms of consumption, they will be right back to where they left off inside of 10 days (usually much less!).
My best friend counsels recovering opiate addicts (usually heroin), and the ones that had a "bundle a day habit" can stay clean for years. Then ultimately, something comes along (the one I am using as an example lost his mom to a drunk driver) that they do not have the coping skills to handle, and he picked up dope. Within four days, he was right back to "a bundle a day" despite his 4 year clean streak. I was absolutely amazed to hear this from her. The young man in the example was just as shocked that his "habit" picked up right where he left off in spite of all those clean years! He is back on the wagon, and just had his two years of sobriety anniversary.
Once an addict, ALWAYS an addict, the only difference is the CHOICES, and ACTIONS one chooses in their daily life.
You have a humanity problem. In that, no matter how many times you are tested, no one can find a shred of humanity in there anywhere!
