The Billboard Music Award finalists have been announced, and they're basically the usual suspects. The better question is, who has the lead going in?
Adele's name appears in 18 different categories, including the coveted Top Artist category, where she will compete against Lady Gaga, Lil Wayne, Katy Perry and Rihanna (who was the leading finalist last year). Meanwhile, electro-pop duo LMFAO is a finalist in 17 award categories, including Top Duo/Group and Top Hot 100 Artist.
But there are plenty of artists to choose from. Nicki Minaj’s "Barbz" will surely be rooting for her in the Top Female Artist and Top Radio Songs Artist categories, and Bruno Mars is a finalist in several categories, including Top Male Artist and Top Hot 100 Artist.
The 2012 Billboard Music Awards will be broadcast live on May 20, 8/7c on ABC. In the meantime, who are you rooting for?

Lady Gaga+10ANYONE but Adele, dangit!! I'm so sick of hearing her.
... well okay, ALMOST anyone.
Obviously Icki Minaj shouldn't even be up there, but I'm not too concerned about her. She has no chance. Neither does Bruno... They can both roll off a cliff in a flaming barrel for all I care.
Preferably Mother Monster, she deserves the prize, but Katy Perry would be just as good!

I don't pick Adele strictly because she's gotten more than enough praise for her work already... and that's not a compliment.
Adele's got her beat in voice, songwriting, and musical style IMO.
I would honestly like to know why you'd pick Gaga as more talented.
Adele isn't BAD, on the contrary, she's very good, as far as vocals go.
But.... I can't help feel that her talent stops there. Her lyrics are lacking, and her style is familiar - too familiar, as in something I've heard before. Atop that, she obviously tries to come off as poetic in her choice of words for her songs, but they just end up as a mixed message to most people.
She isn't TERRIBLE, it's just more like I'd expect more from someone who is praised so highly - no, I don't mean show up to the awards in a meat dress or anything. More like there's great potential in her, but it hasn't been fully unveiled just yet.
Perhaps if so many of her hit songs weren't centric to heartbreak and paying tribute to her troubled times, she could be great. Unfortunately for her, compared to Lady Gaga's last album, I think she really blows Adele out of the water.
True, Gaga wrote a song on there relevant to her own struggles, but the album "Born This Way" had far more variety to offer, as well as center itself around inspiration. I suppose Adele's had some inspiring under tones, but they just came of...

Maybe I'll like her next album more if she ever makes one, but this one, while it certainly isn't terrible and quite frankly blows away other "artists" who rely on auto-tune and fads, I personally think Gaga brought more to the table than Adele did.
No, I'm not one of those "BEKUZ MOTHER MONSTAR IZ HAWT AN DA BEST EVAR!!!" kind of fans. :P I prefer to actually analyze artists rather than just listen to a few of their songs that happen to make radio.
Yes, she's really... Just all over the place. I don't understand why.... Yes, she's talented, but she's not THAT great.... Well, okay better than Nicki Minaj by A LONG SHOT, but her depressing songs have dominated the radio to a point that's just annoying...
