Back in the '90s, when Adam Sandler was making movies like "Billy Madison," "Happy Gilmore," and "The Wedding Singer," he was one of the saving graces of comedy film. He wasn't winning any Oscars, but at least people were laughing with him. Of late, his career has been... Well, let's just say it fell off a cliff and died on impact. To emphasize the point, the Razzies -- a kind of anti-Oscars award ceremony for terrible flicks -- gave Sandler a record-breaking 11 nominations this year.

The nominations "honor" three movies he was involved in last year: "Just Go With It," a romantic comedy co-starring Jennifer Aniston; "Jack and Jill," helmed by "Happy Gimore" director Dennis Dugan; and "Bucky Larson: Born to Be a Star," a sex comedy written by Sandler, starring comedian Nick Swardson. The nominations include Worst Picture, Worst Remake, Worst Ensemble, Worst Screenplay, two for Worst Actor, and even a Worst Actress nomination, for character "Jill" of course. Do you think Adam Sandler deserves that many slams from the Razzies?

He is the worst! Which ever name he uses, Adam Sandler or Nicholas Cage, he is simply awful. What makes it worse is he obviously thinks he is good. Yuck! See this old poll:

He's annoying, unfunny, and just plain terrible! I'm sure he's a perfectly nice person, but I honestly don't think the wirks would suffer too much if he stopped making movies.

I never write a comment on something like this, but I had to. It doesn't matter if he is a good actor or not. I am not sure if he is, but I don't care. I like the characters that he plays in most of his movies. I laugh and smile in most of the movies I have seen of him, and I can watch 50 first dates everday and never get tired of it. I think he is great at most of the parts that he plays.

I just think he plays the same roll over and over again. He's usually rich, has a hot wife or gets a hot chick. Plus he has a lot of good movies even though I hated "Jack and Jill" I like "just go with it " and "click". It's not like every movie someone makes will be the best.

Every well known actor has gone through 'dry' spells where nothing she or he did won public as well as critic approval. In the entertainment business, it is all about sustainability and staying power. If you can ride out the 'down' time, you will rise back up to the top again. That is a fact. I could name at least 50 to 60 names to prove my point
but you you don't have the patience to read so many names and I don't have the space to list them all here. Suffice 3 examples: Sean Connery,Dustin Hoffman and John Travolta

He is a major contributor to the European view of Americans as unthinking, uneducated and uncultured. All we need to do is see an Adam Sandler movie to feel superior, better about ourselves.

He makes lot's of money being stupid on films, like Waterboy, Billy Madison, Little Nicky, etc. (but, we enjoy it).

I think he stinks and is utterly pitiful, no ability and never even funny, just silly. Demographics are interesting, however. A majority of men agree he is bad, while a big majority of women think he is okay. 70% of those with graduate/professional school think he is bad, while 70% of those with high school think he is good. So he has his audience, I guess, it just does not include me.

Yes and he in not funny to boot. I really hate it when he makes that stupid grin. I'll never forget when he stormed out of a back room and pulled a small cameo on Jay Leno. No one laughed or even clapped. Yet another failure by Sandler.

Thing is he is a good Actor/comedian. But that movie Jack and Jill.. STUCKED!!! Jill was sooo bad..I tried to watch it to the end but the dinner scene bout 20min into the movie killed me off man...yes he deserves what he got for that movie but he is a funny guy.

Not a bad actor, just plays the same annoying character in every movie.

Also, am I the only one who thinks the Razzies have way too many categories? And what's up with multiple performances being nominated for the same award, e.g. Worst Actor for three different movies? And Adam Sandler can't be nominated for Best Actress just because he played a woman.

Bad no, pathetic yes. He's only made two decent movies ever. Big Daddy and 50 First Dates. And each of those were written well and had a strong supporting cast. Everything else is crap. Little Nikki should have gotten him exiled forever.
