Adam Levine Debuts Line of Fragrance: Can He Compete With Dior?

Despite having tweeted in 2011 that he thought there should be a ban on celebrity fragrances, which should be "punishable by death," Adam Levine has launched a fragrance line. He defended his earlier comments by clarifying that this is not a typical "celebrity perfume" and that he intends to compete with the big boys like Dior. He told US magazine, "I'd much rather be bold and try to do something that competes with hugely iconic fashion fragrances."


"The Voice" coach was personally involved with the development of each scent in the line, both men and women’s. He explained that since he doesn’t care for wearing fragrances himself, he wanted to create an "anti-cologne" as an alternative to the choices available now.

He stated the men’s scent is "refreshing instead of musky." He also said the women’s options are subtle, adding that he liked to smell a women close up. "I don't like being bombarded by a whole flower garden or marshmallows." The line was debuted at an exclusive Hollywood party last week and is available only at Macy’s. What do you think?
