Adam Lambert's AMA Performance: Provocative or Pornographic?

Adam Lambert's performance at the American Music Awards of his new single "For Your Entertainment," to no one's surprise, pushed the limits with its sexually charged choreography. Lambert stunned viewers by pulling the head of a male breakup dancer into his crotch and kissing
another male dancer.

The American Idol runner-up told CNN that it is "a form of discrimination and a double standard" for anyone to object since "women performers have been pushing the envelope" for decades. Watch the video for yourself and decide: was he just pushing the envelope or did he go too far?

I don't know what the hell the big deal is...I liked Adam's performance...and didn't think there was anything wrong with it...and I agree with Adam...there is a double standard...look at Spears or Madonna...they've done worst things on stage and nobody really comments on it...I think it is because they are women and peeps happen to find two girls kissing all the rage and a turn on but if two boys kiss...oh my god...it is disgusting and all hell breaks out...give Adam a break...he is an amazing singer and perfomer and he is entitled to showcase his talent any way he likes...hmm...didn't anyone happen to notice Lady Gaga's outfit...it looked like she was nude and nobody has been bitching about that so please leave Adam alone and respect that he is an entertainer and this is who he is...don't we already know he's gay?...so why should we all of a sudden be shocked?...SUPPORT ADAM LAMBERT!!!!!!!!!!!

OMG everyone's a in an uproar about this? He's a performer and a very talented one. So he kissed a guy so he grinded someone's face into his crotch but if you listened to the lyrics you'd understand the song a bit more over. I thought it was hot and sexy. Its not that big of a deal. Sure it's sexually charged and Flamboyant, but I've seen WAY Worse. I enjoyed his performance!!!! I LOVE HIM SOO MUCH AND TO DEATH!!!

I don't mind that he's gay, but come on don't perform like that! expecilly on Music awards! Kids watch it! He was super sexy doing his perfomane at the ama's i loved it, and when u dance to that song wat are u spoused too do? i mean has anyone realy listened to the words in the song!!(i loved it!!) and adam is sexy in general so wat does it matter about one liitle SEXY perfomance!!

I think it is a Great thing. If it gets all the moralizing uptight asshole fundamentalist shook up, then it makes me a happy guy. I actually bought his album last night just as a way to make a statement. Time to tell the fundies to shut the hell up and get out of the way. If you dont like what you are seeing, then change the damn channel, NO one is making you watch anything.

I personally thought I was viewing Sodom & Gomorra on the AMA's.. .What Adam Lambert does with another consenting adult in his bedroom is his business and he has the freedom in this country to do that. But I DON'T want all of that trash on regular television for my tween daughter to see. I don't want to see women with stripper poles on tv and I don't want to see gay sex simulated either. Keep the sex in the bedroom, not to 'push the envelope' on tv. Adam could be a real star if he would just act like he did on AI, but he seems to want to just be a gay star.

As Adam said "I am not trying to offend anyone. If you are offended then I may not be for you." I think that is well said. If you like him listen and watch if you don't then change the channel. Adam Lambert has a great voice that should be shared. He is just being normal to push the envelope a little bit to see what he can get away with and can't just like a little child. People take some of this stuff to seriously or it's taboo and no one wants to acknowledge it. I believe however if it was a woman probably everything would have been aired and nothing censored. I don't think the issue is the dancing. I think the issue is because he is gay and some of his dancing was in your face stuff.
I like hims so he has my support.

Let me ask this: Would people still be offended if a woman did that? Would they be offended if a lesbian did the same thing?

Adam Lambert and the rest of the Hollywood crowd have got it wrong. There might be a double standard but it is not with the general viewers. I think that most people don't want to see Adam, Brittney, Madonna, or anyone else kissing someone else on stage as part of a musical act. I'm no prude but come on do you really want to see people making out on stage while performing a music act. Like I said if there is a double standard it is with Hollywood and the Media. I don't want to see it if it no matter what the sexual orientation of the participants. Get a room!

Ask yourself this: If some older rocker brought a girl, say 13 onto the stage and simulated humping her or having her perform oral sex on him, would that have been acceptable?

Society has standards, and by and large they are reasonable. He went beyond them. So he deserves a smackdown.

I agree there are other artists out there that have done worse and you barely hear anything about it. IF a woman does something with sex, it's sexy or depending on how far they take it slutty. If a guy does it, it's normal. If a gay guy does it then it's in your face look at me type of thing and it's wrong and not allowed.

Hello, im thirteen, and i didnt actually see the preformance because i was on the computer lol..but my mom came rushing in my room and asking me: oh my gosh..did you see the preformance for adam lambert? And i was like: What? she said it was discusting, so the next morning i went to youtube, and just typed in adam lambert and it was all over the internet, i clicked the video, it was the most horrible thing i have ever seen in my entire life, it was so gross i felt like my stomach was going to pop..and explode with vomit or whatever...people are saying that we are just jelous and homophobic..no.
