Earlier in the month, there were rumors that former "American Idol" runner-up Adam Lambert might be replacing the late Freddie Mercury as frontman of Queen. The rumors are true, but infuriated fans can relax. It's not a permanent position. Lambert will join guitarist Brian May and drummer Roger Taylor for a one-night stand at Sonisphere 2012, just north of London, on July 7. We repeat: One night. Just one.
Casual observers might be surprised to hear that this isn't even the first time Lambert has filled Mercury's shoes. He first played with the band on "American Idol" in 2009 -- a single song, "We Are the Champions," with fellow contestant and season winner Kris Allen at his side -- and again this last November for an eight-minute set at the MTV Europe Awards. May has publicly suggested that Mercury would have approved of Lambert.
Lambert recently told The Associated Press, "[The band is] very sweet and just to be up there doing this music is such an honor. Freddie Mercury was a hero to me and his voice, his song writing and being gay, the whole package is amazing ... I in no way am trying to copy or mimic or replace Freddie or do what he did, that would be insulting to his memory and to the fans that hold him in such high regard. I just am paying tribute. I am excited to sing the songs that he wrote and to try to give them some sort of flair that he would appreciate." Do you think Adam Lambert is a good addition to Queen -- even if it's just for one night?

Love and Light,
myself , I would try my talent in another way . No one can replace Freddie Mercury , nothing to do with artistic talents ( only ) , but with his unique being & personality ;he was the Queen & Queen was him . Besides I don't like Adams trying to be alike Freddie , not nice looking .
I dont think it is disrespectful for Brian, Roger and John to want to carry on performing, I think Freddie would have wanted them to.
I dont think I would want it to be a permanent thing, but a one-off is totally fine, its a tribute. RIP Freddie
