Queen Eyeing Adam Lambert As New Lead Singer
May 24, 2009 Author: admin | Filed under: News

Queen Eyeing Adam Lambert As New Lead Singer In a slightly odd, and yet well-sourced, rumor, band Queen has been considering asking American Idol runner-up Adam Lambert to sign on as their new frontman. According to an series of emails with Rolling Stone magazine, Brian May said that they had become fans of Lambert over the course of the season. Queen themselves have been guest teachers on the talent show in the past.

“It’s not like we, as Queen, would rush into coalescing with another singer just like that. It isn’t that easy. But I’d certainly like to work with Adam,” one of the emails said.

This would be one of several attempts at finding a new lead singer, after the tragic death of Freddy Mercury in the early ’90’s. In any case we’re pretty sure Adam is going to do very well for himself regardless of his not winning AI.

I thought that as well when I heard him sing with Queen.
I think it's a perfect fit! Adam's got the pipes and the theatrical flair necessary to fill the shoes of Freddie.

Freddy is untochable, nobody can replace him. Cause on the radio youll just go its not Freddy that would ruin it.

I didn't hear Adam sing with Queen, so I don't really have an opinion.

However, as a HUGE Queen fan, I'd have to say that the ONLY person who's done Freddie Mercury's vocals any justice was George Michael.

Hmm .. I liked Queen's music .. and I am not sure about this at all. I don't think it would be a good fit with what I do like of their artistry .. but that is just me.

I don't watch Idol, but its generally not a good idea to replace a successful lead singer who is deceased. The Doors tried that and it flopped

He did okay with the song, but not that good.
He was better with the KISS song, doing a tour with them could work.

But Queen, no one will ever match up to Mercury.

I like Adam Lambert but Queen is well...Queen, you can't mess with them, if they want a new singer they need to be looking else where, in my opinion.

Change the last letter of the band to an "R", and it would make much more sense.
