When you first heard about "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter," you probably thought it was a spoof. Alas, it's the real deal: the history/horror flick opens nationwide today.

"The way I see it, whatever else it is, it's a huge summer movie that is, for a change, not a sequel, a prequel, a reboot, a remake, based on a toy, a video game, or a board game," author, screenwriter and producer Seth Grahame-Smith told CBS. "And that's where I come in and make my case of, like, 'Hey, let's do something strange. Let's do something offbeat, a little daring. Let's get back to doing cool genre films.'"

So far, however, the film only has a 36 percent rating on RottenTomatoes.com. "Don't let the stupid title dissuade you from seeing 'Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter.' Let the stupid plot, the stupid history, the stupid action scenes, the stupid trivializing of slavery," gripes the The New York Post. However, The Washington Post calls it, "Both terribly silly and a lot of fun."

We have to say: This one sounds just weird enough to be somewhat interesting. From "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter" to "The Twilight Saga," click through our slideshow and let us know: What's the best vampire movie?

i love Twilight because this is a beautiful, romantic and original.. yes, original story, also i am a big fan of Vampire Diaries .. and i will never understand American obsession with vampires, werewolves, zombies- walking-dead, gremlins, aliens and the end of the world :). sorry, guys, i have always found it immature and tasteless.

How about Bram Stoker's Dracula from 1992? That was a great film in it's day, and better than all these. It made me take notice of and respect Gary Oldman as an actor. I have liked him ever since.

Blade was pretty cool too for a more modern version of the vampire stories. IWTV was awesome though because it made you feel like that ancient evil had really survived into the present, unlike that stupid Twilight crap.

I know it's a joke. I just like for people to show respect to the historical characters. Lincoln abolished slavery, if he hadn't been president then slavery would have lasted longer than it did maybe even forever.

I'm sorry I snapped at you. I just have a lot of respect for Lincoln since he abolished slavery.

I've always hated the idea of slavery. All people are made equal. Doesn't matter about their size, shape, color, nationality, etc.

    Horton the Elephant said:

"A person's a person, no matter how small."

    I agree with that quote.
  • Dandydon Holmes 2012/08/01 00:14:07
    Dandydon
    Can't disagree with that...
  • Holmes Dandydon 2012/08/13 02:02:08
    Holmes
I wonder what Lincoln would say if he saw how things we today in our time?

Sorry about snapping at you, I really shouldn't have done that.
