When you first heard about "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter," you probably thought it was a spoof. Alas, it's the real deal: the history/horror flick opens nationwide today.

"The way I see it, whatever else it is, it's a huge summer movie that is, for a change, not a sequel, a prequel, a reboot, a remake, based on a toy, a video game, or a board game," author, screenwriter and producer Seth Grahame-Smith told CBS. "And that's where I come in and make my case of, like, 'Hey, let's do something strange. Let's do something offbeat, a little daring. Let's get back to doing cool genre films.'"

So far, however, the film only has a 36 percent rating on RottenTomatoes.com. "Don't let the stupid title dissuade you from seeing 'Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter.' Let the stupid plot, the stupid history, the stupid action scenes, the stupid trivializing of slavery," gripes the The New York Post. However, The Washington Post calls it, "Both terribly silly and a lot of fun."

We have to say: This one sounds just weird enough to be somewhat interesting. From "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter" to "The Twilight Saga," click through our slideshow and let us know: What's the best vampire movie?

Though Underworld is a very close second for me. :) I haven't seen Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter yet, and even if it is good, I doubt it will top Interview or Underworld.

I saw Abe at a screening. People will be pleasantly surprised. Think of it as an alternative universe type story.fx are great. Lot of history woven in. Stay with it and you'll be glad you did. I'd give it a 78.

Actually I prefer the classics with Bela Lugosi over the newer ones. Oh, and Fright Night and Lost Boys. I only picked Buffy because I thought the rest of the titles sucked. LOL! pun intended. Haven't seen the Abe one yet but I'd like to.

I want to know how did "Fright Night" the original didn't make it? That gave you a look at a real scary vampire. Chris Sarandon to Roddy McDowell, "Peter Vincent, welcome to Fright Night..." takes two steps down the stairs, takes a bite of his apple and adds, "FOR REAL!" That was an awsome line and actually made the vampire scary. "Fright Night" did for vampires what "American Werewolf in London" did for werewolves... Returned them to the Horror genre!

Underworld is my second favorite. But, "Fright Night" Wasn't on the list!

Of these, I'd have to go with Interview, but I can't believe Bram Stoker's Dracula isn't on here. The classic vampire story with worse acting from Keanu and Wynona than even in the Twilight movies makes it my favorite to re-watch at least once a year. Haven't seen AL:VH yet though.

The best Vampire film was...dun dun dun Dracula. While many other films have taken us down other routes, the original has inspired more fear and terror...and for some still does even today so many years since it was made.

Not one these films above has the same sort of feeling that the original delivers. Sure the graphics aren't so hot, the characters are fairly stereotypical and the storyline was simple. But that made for an immensely great film. In fact for me the only film that has ever come close is Blade.

Buffy The Vampire slayer... week after week of vampire attacks, which turned to dust... it was like watching Power Rangers. There was almost no tension beyond standard drama, no true feelings.

Now if I wanted my vampires to come with sparkles, I'd have selected Twilight... but seriously...Twilight? Good vampire film? You know what...Mona The Vampire lets go.

I selected underworld because it also reminded me of the sheer scale that Vampires have, even though the special effects were...low budget... the acting wasn't the best in the world but it made me think and it got me involved. That's really all I want from a film.

Mine goes waaay back to 1975 - Frank Langella was Count Dracula. Best I ever saw. I was a vampire critic for a long time. Guess I lost interest, haven't seen one in many years.

*gasp* Why would you have problems with Tom Cruise's Lestat!? (You're entitled to your opinion and everything) but what problems do you have? He did a wonderful job, and even Anne Rice herself loved his performance in spite of doubting him at first.

I would say "Angel" actually. Beacuse I like the way he doesn't talk too much but rather thinks a lot. And I love the whole "benevolent justice"-theme.
But yeah, they overdid it and all that. Another good one is "The Descent". I don't know if it falls in the "vampire"-category though. And it's ages since I saw it. But it was good as far as I recall.
