When you first heard about "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter," you probably thought it was a spoof. Alas, it's the real deal: the history/horror flick opens nationwide today.
"The way I see it, whatever else it is, it's a huge summer movie that is, for a change, not a sequel, a prequel, a reboot, a remake, based on a toy, a video game, or a board game," author, screenwriter and producer Seth Grahame-Smith told CBS. "And that's where I come in and make my case of, like, 'Hey, let's do something strange. Let's do something offbeat, a little daring. Let's get back to doing cool genre films.'"
So far, however, the film only has a 36 percent rating on RottenTomatoes.com. "Don't let the stupid title dissuade you from seeing 'Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter.' Let the stupid plot, the stupid history, the stupid action scenes, the stupid trivializing of slavery," gripes the The New York Post. However, The Washington Post calls it, "Both terribly silly and a lot of fun."
We have to say: This one sounds just weird enough to be somewhat interesting. From "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter" to "The Twilight Saga," click through our slideshow and let us know: What's the best vampire movie?

Underworld is my second favorite. But, "Fright Night" Wasn't on the list!
Not one these films above has the same sort of feeling that the original delivers. Sure the graphics aren't so hot, the characters are fairly stereotypical and the storyline was simple. But that made for an immensely great film. In fact for me the only film that has ever come close is Blade.
Buffy The Vampire slayer... week after week of vampire attacks, which turned to dust... it was like watching Power Rangers. There was almost no tension beyond standard drama, no true feelings.
Now if I wanted my vampires to come with sparkles, I'd have selected Twilight... but seriously...Twilight? Good vampire film? You know what...Mona The Vampire lets go.
I selected underworld because it also reminded me of the sheer scale that Vampires have, even though the special effects were...low budget... the acting wasn't the best in the world but it made me think and it got me involved. That's really all I want from a film.
But yeah, they overdid it and all that. Another good one is "The Descent". I don't know if it falls in the "vampire"-category though. And it's ages since I saw it. But it was good as far as I recall.
