When you first heard about "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter," you probably thought it was a spoof. Alas, it's the real deal: the history/horror flick opens nationwide today.
"The way I see it, whatever else it is, it's a huge summer movie that is, for a change, not a sequel, a prequel, a reboot, a remake, based on a toy, a video game, or a board game," author, screenwriter and producer Seth Grahame-Smith told CBS. "And that's where I come in and make my case of, like, 'Hey, let's do something strange. Let's do something offbeat, a little daring. Let's get back to doing cool genre films.'"
So far, however, the film only has a 36 percent rating on RottenTomatoes.com. "Don't let the stupid title dissuade you from seeing 'Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter.' Let the stupid plot, the stupid history, the stupid action scenes, the stupid trivializing of slavery," gripes the The New York Post. However, The Washington Post calls it, "Both terribly silly and a lot of fun."
We have to say: This one sounds just weird enough to be somewhat interesting. From "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter" to "The Twilight Saga," click through our slideshow and let us know: What's the best vampire movie?

And how about the original Fright Night? Not the remake with Colin Farrell. Although, I heard it wasn't bad. But I can't say if it's worth watching since I haven't seen it. Yet still, Salem's Lot. How can that one be left off the list? There's also Nosferatu, the greatest silent horror film ever made about a vampire. Even Vampire in Brooklyn with Eddie Murphy would have knocked Twilight off the list. Okay, so I'm over exaggerating. But it still disappoints me to know that this list has dwarfed so many great movies. Or any Christopher Lee as Dracula flicks would have been far greater of the choices as well for vampire movies. And then there's Van Helsing. Another good film. Oh and then there's Blade. The first one, the other one's just got worse as the series kept going.
Just so there's no hard feelings about how I felt about the list, here's a couple nice pictures. Try and guess what movie they're from:

Can't recommend the Fright Night remake, either, though the original was great.
NEVERWHERE
Interview With The Vampire was amazing, probably some of the lead actor's best roles.
But my personal favorite (and this has nothing to do with quality) is the Underworld series . . .
I haven't see Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter yet, but I doubt it'll do the book justice. Book adaptations hardly ever are adapted well.
Favourite vampire movie is Let Me In. I even have it on blu ray :D
I still have to watch Let the Right One In. Heard the Swedish version is better than the American. But, if you don't want subtitles, then I guess it's worth watching the American version instead.
